Works perfect however, as some have said the battery cover is the weak link. Be very careful when opening the battery cover. Its a brittle plastic way to small and flimsy for the job. Fits real tight so you have to really stress it to open the cover. I prefer to remove the batteries when storing the unit for a long time so this is a problem. My previous unit was destroyed from leaky batteries (Duracell copper top not suppose to leak, I know).

This laser level is very high quality and I can see how useful it would be to a professional in the building trades. I used it to install a six-foot shelf over my TV, and it worked great. The laser lines are very bright red. It offers several mounting options, and the self-leveling pendulum is tolerant of less than perfect mounting. For the average DIYer, this tool is probably overkill, unless you are taking on a major remodeling, in which case it would be very handy. It produces a horizontal laser line, a vertical laser line and a plumb spot laser. If the plumb spot laser is not important to you, you can opt for the less expensive model without the spot.

the Kline tool self leveling cross -line laser level. easy to use and offer a nice bright red light line to guide you in your task. it offer you 2 different tripod mounting thread sizes a 1/4 inch and larger 5/8 inch. plus has a integrated 360 degree mounting bracket. there a strong wood stud bracket that the magnet level head will attach to. the unit offer a horizontal and vertical line that can be use together or independently plus a pin point spot laser . the unit use 3 AA batteries that came with it in the hard plastic compact storage case. the laser control’s are easy to understand and to operate on this level .this unit is IP54 rated for water and dust resistant.

So far has worked excellent for me, I have not had issues with the battery compartment which I saw some people had but I did limit my review to 4 stars because the first laser I received the vertical laser line would not turn on. So had to return and buy another. For the price, I’m satisfied.
