I just finished installing a new exhaust fan in my bathroom and I used these side-cutting pliers during the installation to cut 12/2 Romex wiring to length. I’m not sure that is the manufacturer’s intention for the side-cutting knives, but I was able to cut through the wiring with one squeeze of the handles. The plastic covering on the handles adds a bit of cushioning to my fingers and palm when I squeeze them. An improvement I would like to see is to make the jaws spring-loaded so they would self-open. Made in USA

As with all Klein tools these are top of the line. They are sharp and have performed very well for me and I have used them for electrical wiring as well as tie wires on rebar. If you are looking for a great set of side cutting pliers that will last a very long time, this is the tool. This is my second set of Klein pliers in roughly 10 years and the old ones are still good.

I have always been impressed with Klein Tool’s quality and this tool does not disappoint! The action and comfort of using it is easy and seems very natural. It grips and cuts exceptionally well. The design feature I like best about this tool is its size. I have used a 9″ heavy duty version of same tool for more than a decade and have enjoyed it. This slightly smaller and lighter version fits in my tool pouch or pocket much better and is far less prone to falling out. For standard residential use, this is my new go to set of cutting pliers! I highly recommend them.

These Klein Tools Lineman side-cutting pliers look to be precision-made and of quality design and construction. Their cutting edges cut 12 gauge copper wire with ease; and the jaws are perfectly aligned with only a slight gap between them. Made in the USA, these pliers have plastic coated handles. But, on the reverse of the pliers hinge not visible while in the package, it states “WARNING NOT INSULATED”, “WILL NOT PROTECT AGAINST ELECTRICAL SHOCK”. Any lineman pliers should protect the user from electrical shock.

Before I found this pliers, and a couple of months ago while shopping for side-cutting pliers, I examined every brand on display. The jaws were not in alignment nor did any come together evenly. There were no Klein Tools to select from. The 7 inch Klein side cutting pliers have no wobble whatsoever. The jaws come together precisely. This tool represents value received for the cost.

I have several Klein tools and every one of them is outstanding. The 7 in. Side Cutting Pliers is no exception. It is superbly crafted and made in the USA. The cutter is extremely sharp and cuts through 10 gauge wire without too much effort. The jaws have a cross-hatch pattern that makes gripping wire or anything else more secure. Though the handles are plastic coated it is marked as “Not insulated.” I would certainly recommend this side cutting plies to my friends.

Recently I added a pair of Klein Tools 7 in. Side Cutting Pliers to my tool chest. I have a few other Klein tools, so I knew I would not be disappointed. The pliers are made in the USA and upon taking them out of the package you can feel the quality in them compared to ones made in China. The riveted joint makes for smooth handling as compared to ones with slip joint and the plastic dipped handle with help you maintain a firm grip on it. The cutting knives on them provides easy cutting power through different gauge wires like a hot knife through butter. If your looking for a quality tool to add to your collection, look no further, you’ve found it.

These side cutting pliers are great. They operate very smoothly and effortlessly. The cutting edges are 5/8-inches long and very sharp. The handles are coated with absorbing material to make continuous use less strenuous on you hand. The coating does not, however, provide electric shock protection. The squared head of the pliers, as well as the cutting edges, are very well aligned.

Klein tools in my book are the best tools for electricians. Made right here in the USA…..the Klein 7inch side cutting pliers are just another arsenal in the line up of tools for the professional or DIY. Item number D201-7NE are made with induction hardened cutting knives for long life. They are hot-riveted at the joint for smooth action and no handle wobble. Great for cutting several gauges of wire with ease from 14 gauge all the way up to 10 gauge wire. The pliers make it easy when twisting pairs of wire together to get the job done right the first time.

Nothing not to like here. The pliers have a nice smooth movement, they are precision-made, and the cutting blade is effective for cutting wires. One thing which caught my eye is the pliers are stamped with a notice “NOT INSULATED” in spite of the fact that they have rubber grips on the handles. I found this odd but you shouldn’t be cutting through live wires anyway. I’ve become a fan of Klein tools in general – over the past few years I’ve picked up electrical testers and other tools by Klein and have never been disappointed. They’re also always priced fairly, so the value is good.
