Very strong and should handle any plastic cutting job. These pliers have a screw to prevent the cutting edges from damaging each other. This leaves them sharp enough to cleanly slice through plastic. Using them on harder material such as metal would damage them so, reserved their use for plastic only. They handles are comfortable and are spring loaded to stay open. A small plastic loop can be placed over the handles to keep them closed. I do this to prevent the open blades from being damaged by other tools when in storage. Even though I find them a bit too large for very small model construction work, the tip is small enough to allow even very small parts to be clipped from an injection molding sprue.Made in USA

These 7 inch plastic cutting pliers are fine but if you expect these to also substitute as wire cutters, you have the wrong pliers. I had excellent results in cutting vinyl tubing along with plastic water lines. The pliers produced a clean cut and did not take a lot of pressure to squeeze them. They also worked fine on cutting small garden hose. They are not designed as wire strippers. So I would not recommend to use these on it.

This 8-inch American made plastic cutting pliers is another of quality Klein branded tools made purposely for cutting “plastic only” materials such as sprues, gates and, for me, quantities of large plastic tie wraps. All that is needed is the occasional wipe and a few drops of light oil to insure this set of pliers will easily self-open and to prevent rusting. This is a really good set of plastic cutting snips …. Just don’t lend this tool out and possibly have friends and neighbors ruin the tool by ignorantly attempting to cut ferrous materials.

Klein Tools have always been known for their quality. These plastic trimming pliers are no exception. Plastic trimming requires very precise cutting. The 7” long rubber dipped handle give more than enough leverage required to separate the plastic part from the gate. It is nice that Klein included a adjustable stop for multiple trims or cuts. That prolongs the life of the tool and saves your hands too. RC

I do a lot of work with drip irrigation. Some of the tubing is 1/8” and 1/4”. Finding descent cutting tools has been almost impossible until now. These cutting pliers do the job perfectly. They cut quicker and cleaner than any other cutting tools on the market and we have tried most. The design keeps the sharp edges from damages to each other. One of the best features is the self opening action. We regularly cut over 100 pieces of plastic drip per job and the self opening really speeds up the job! They are not recommended for metal. Lifetime guarantee just adds to the value.

This is a very high quality plastic cutting pliers! Very durable and solid feeling quality from a well known tool manufacturer! The pliers are spring loaded to stay open for easy cutting. There is a small rubber band that holds the pliers closed when not in use. There is an adjustable set screw that is used to keep the blades from damaging each other. The pliers offer a surgical cutting feeling. Very high quality & I would definitely recommend!!

Klein 8″ plastic-cutting pliers – model D227-7CUSA made and featuring a cut-limiting screw (easy on the blades) this is not going to be a “must-have” tool for every home-owner.Before this tool arrived, I was cutting zip-ties with a common plier, needle-nose or wire snip. Or if you’re a Klein-fan, but want something more multi-function, consider the Klein #44218 folding utility knife. In a job-specific setting, where the cut needs to be neat & clean, the D227-7C may be appropriate. Otherwise, you’ve probably got something else on hand that can do as well, leaving room for some other one-trick-pony that your job requires.

High quality diagonal cutters, very sharp and work well. These are well made and there is no “twang” when I cut the harder wires. Often I have found that the cheaper / lower quality diagonal cutters snap a bit and which after a while makes my hand hurt. Not sure how useful the “Off set screw” setting feature is. Supposedly it helps keep the blade sharp and prevents them from getting dull. Doubt I will set / use this feature.Overall great set of diagonal cutters.

I build on average 60 model kits per year ad wanted a really nice set of plastic sprue cutters.Upon receiving these cutters I was happy to see that they are a large size for big hands. The blades have a set screw that can be adjusted with a hex wrench to give you the right distance between the cutting teeth and avoid the teeth connecting with each other. The blades are very thin which is important. These blades are for plastic cutting only. Nothing else. They do cut easily through any style of plastic. The cleanliness of the cut leaves a lot to be desired. For bulk work where finish is not important this is fine. For up close work and smooth cuts you’ll want something else. The blades do more of a pinch/snap cut than a knife style smooth cut. They leave the cut surface pinched off with a rough pointed finish.I would recommend these for heavy duty plastic sprue cutting where the look of the final cut doesn’t matter. I would not recommend them for work where the finish of the cut matters.
