I wanted a good pair of wire cutters for cutting thinner wires for small electronic projects and soldering work. I have a cheap pair, but wanted to try these Klein cutters for comparison.I made the mistake of not reading the complete product description, so I didn’t realize that these are apparently specialized cutters. These are “Nickel-Ribbon Wire Cutters” that only have a 5mm wide cutting area at the tip of the cutters. I am not familiar with nickel-ribbon wire and don’t know why these cutters don’t have a full cutting blade like most wire cutters, but these appear to be specialized cutters. So that was my fault for not realizing the difference. With that said, these are nice, high quality cutters that work well for standard small wires. They are spring loaded, so they work well for making multiple cuts without having to reposition them in your hands. They are very small, with the usable handle area being less than 3″ long, so they were a little awkward to get used to. I don’t have large hands, and these feel tiny in my hands. While these are nice cutters, unless you specifically need to cut nickel-ribbon wire and need the small 5mm cutting area, I would recommend a slightly larger pair of cutters with a full length blade.
