Quality, American made hand tools. I’ve used Klein tools for over 40 years and they have never failed me.

Pros: True flush cut – 4″ length is perfect – very good dipped grips -coil spring return – harden steel last several years in the field.Cons: I had two sets where one of the die cast side cut blades broke. These are Klein and this just shouldn’t happen with Klein tools. I keep buying this tool anyway because of they design and a true (flush cut blade set.)

Smaller version of my 8″ D-2000 Offset Cutters. Needed something small for electronics uses that will also cut 6- and 8-Conductor (26AWG) flat cable and not leave frayed ends. The D-2000s are not shears. I have chipped the knives on two pair of Xcelites (and snapped off one jaw) and chewed up the edges on an Irwin flush cutter while just cutting light copper wire (less than 18 AWG), cable ties, and snipping off the tape carrier for SMD components. These are typically paper, sometimes plastic, and the only thing I can figure is the knife edges clicked together while I was snipping away. Neither the Xcelites or the Irwins was ever used to cut steel wire, BX, flex, etc. They are too small for that anyway. These are Kleins, so maybe there is some durability here. Otherwise, if limited to throwaway cutters I’ll buy the Xuron 2175 stamped metal shears for ~$12.00 a set. We’ll see.
