These are good pliers for cutting small gauge wire, thin screws and small nails up to 8D finish nails. The opening and closing of these pliers is smooth and easy. The grip appears to be a simple red plastic slip on grip but the description say that they are plastic-dipped; not sure what the difference is. In the past, I have had trouble with some grips that are designed this way slipping off. Because they are small and have a tapered nose, they are good for getting into tight spots and being able to cut wires close. They are not insulated. They are made with high quality steel – induction hardened for durability so they shouldn’t chip or break and should have a long life. They are good pliers but not exceptional. So far, I have not had grip slippage with these pliers. These will be good for a lot of uses and will be good functional all-purpose pliers.
