As the name suggests these are heavy duty. Beefier than your standard cutters. I like that tips at flattened so they don’t get hung up on a pouch/bag. Also the length of them give you a lot of extra leverage. Especially good for commercial work.

If your looking for a set of heavy duty diganal cutters then, this is it. Same as 9” journeyman pliers just cut in to a set of diganal cutters, can handle years of cutting metal. Only disadvantage is if you like the curve on the 8” for pulling staples the 9” set dose not have that.

Klein Tools is the preferred hand tool brand among professionals in the Electrical and Cabling Industries (and for good reason), so when they come out with a new tool I tend to pay attention. Let me just say, these cutters filled a hole in my tool bag that I never knew I had. Before receiving these, I carried both a 6″ and 8″ pair of diagonal cutters in my “essentials” bag. I keep several sizes of bolt cutters on my work truck for anything that’s too large for my diagonal cutters. Well, these have saved me quite a few trips out to the truck and back to grab the bolt cutters, and time is money. They cut through almost anything you throw at them with ease. Nails, screws, wire, ACSR all cut like butter. I even use them to cut 1/4″ threaded rod (something none of my other hand tools could hope to accomplish). They’re not exactly revolutionary, but they do anything I would have used my 8″ cutters for with greater ease due to the extra leverage, with the added bonus of being able to cut through larger objects. The cutting blades are much longer as well which gives you the ability to cut more all at once. I love the feel of these cutters. They have similar weight and ergonomics to a quality pair of Lineman’s pliers, with the extra comfort afforded by Klein’s Journeyman grips. It’s a bit different from the more traditional rounded handles found on smaller diagonal cutters, but a welcome change. The angled blade design makes them fantastic for pulling nails and cable staples, as well a making flush cuts against a flat surface. These are just a great all-around pair of diagonal cutters that have become my go-to daily pair. The only reason I get a smaller pair out anymore is if these are too big to fit in a small spot. They are very bulky I took the handles off and put a tit liner on one side to make them usable for cutting tiewire but they will cut a 16 duplex nail with a little bit of effort

#kleintools has provided me with this pair of Journeyman 2000 9″ diagonal cutters for free in exchange for a honest review. I have used them for 3 days now mostly for commercial electrical work; cutting wire, screws, grid wire, and pretty much anything else. Still sharp and best of all no break in was needed. The larger handle and longer cutting edge makes them a lot easier to use when I have gloves on and trying to cut a zip tie holding a bunch of cables. #kleincrusaders.

I received the new 9 inch Heavy Duty Journeymen side cutters as a member of the Klein Tradesmen Club, in return for a honest review of the product. So far after 4 days of use and letting fellow workers and others on the job site check them out cutting wire, screws, nails etc. Everyone is impressed with the size and leverage compared to original 8 inch Journeymen side cutters. I’m a electrician and do various jobs from residential, new construction wiring, re-wire and service upgrades, and farm wiring from there new grain bins to fixing and upgrading wiring.
