This is a nice tool to have in your tool bag if you do electrical work. It’s not insulated – the warnings are specific on this – so caution is needed to avoid electrical shock. That being said, the T shape of the handle as well as the rubber grip allow a very comfortable hold and ability for greater torque on say, electrical lugs. This is a good line of tools, comes in metric and inch, color coded. This particular one is 1/2 inch.

This is one Hefty tool for home or work. Very well constructed and I truthfully don’t think this Hex tool will ever wear out. Even the handle is well made and just right for getting a good grip for breaking something loose or getting the proper torque on something. Klein makes very good tools and I have several of them and I recommend them. Now that I know how well made these are, I will be going back to Home Depot to complete the set.

I got this mostly for tightening lugs in large electrical main service equipment. Bigger lugs that hold 500 through 750 Kcmil wire generally require a 1/2 inch Allen wrench. The long length means I will be able to get in to even the most recessed of lugs. I like the handle grip a lot. It is a good size for my hand (I wear a size large glove) and has a nice rubber grip with a soft, grippy feel to it. And, it is a Klein, so I know it will last until long after I retire from the trade.

This is a lifetime product! It is very sturdy and well hardened at both ends. I am 220 lbs and it did support my weight on a hex nut without even flexing. The grip is nice and feel comfortable in the hand, has a very natural and comfortable feel. I don;t know what material it was but in wet sweaty hands it doesn’t tend to slip and is not sticky too.I was surprised to find that this product was actually made in Slovenia, most likely in the Metal Ravne plant which has over 400 years in metallurgical history and is well known in Europe. Certainly this is not a cheap tool, but a very high quality item. I liked the laser etching on the side. All top quality tools have that nowadays and it tends to stand out more with using it. There is also additional identification on the top of the handle.Having slightly over 10 inches in length, it easily would accommodate a torque capability close to the failure point of any 1/2″ bolt so be careful.I am absolutely ecstatic with this tool, it is a journeyman’s tool and the best quality money can buy in this world.

Ordered this as well as the full set that Klein makes. Stand has a hole for the half-inch Alen to drop into. So complete set can be kept on a work bench. I was looking for the upper end of the set for parallel feeds and preventive maintenance in electrical equipment. Very happy with it and quality matches that of Wera or Wiha. Hole in handle makes it possible to attach a lanyard if you work on light fixtures from a lift.

I do not use this tool a lot but it is nice to have it for an option. I like the handle because it fits comfortably in my hand and is easier to find in my tool pouch. I have even used it as a tapping hammer once in a while. It is very sturdy and the steel is strong. If you are an electrician or in HVAC you will get a lot of use out of it. I would recommend it.

This review is for Klein Tools 1/2 inch Hex Journeyman 9 inch T-Handle. Model # JTH 9E 17.One thing I’ve learned growing up and getting wiser is that you never go cheap when buying tools. A well made quality tool will outlast you. I’ve owned a variety of tools from Klein. They have all been excellent tools, well manufactured with quality parts. This T-Handle is no exception. This is one robust strongly made tool. The shaft is 9 inches long and including the handle, the tool measures just over 10 1/2 inches. The 1/2 inch tip is case hardened to provide many years of service. The red and black handle grip is made of a very nice non-slip hard rubber type material and measures a thick4 3/4 inches across and is ergonomically shaped to fit the hand perfectly. The numbers 1/2 are stamped atop the handle for easy recognition. A hanging hole is provided in the handle.Overall, a very well made tool that I would recommend to anyone looking to fill out their tool box.
