Best cutter and stripper that was on the shelf at my local store. Made easy work of the 8 or 10 gauge.

Had the pliers one day but so far I have used the wire strippers and plier function replacing a kitchen light. These pliers s replace lineman pliers, wire strippers and crimpers in a more compact size which saves weight in my tool bag while working in building maintenance.

The last thing I need, when working with electrical, is a wire stripper that needs special attention, ie: needs an adjustment before stripping a certain size wire, cuts too deep past the insulator & into the core, or has many moving parts that over time will rust, break or come apart, rendering the stripper useless. This Klein Tools heavy duty wire stripper solves all those issues. It has one pivot point in the pliers type setup. The handles are spring loaded so the stripper opens immediately after each operation. A genius must have come up with this tool as it incorporates so many operations in such a simple tool. The most common wire sizes are imprinted right next to the notches that strip the insulation. Using this tool, I stripped wires from 20 awg plastic & fabric covered speaker & bell wires to 10 awg power wires. In all instances, the stripping tool made a fast clean cut. The pliers cross hatched jaws solidly held the wire, without any slippage, while I was twisting it. The shear cutting knife blades cut cleanly through 10 awg wire. This tool even has a wire looping hole that worked perfectly, even with 10 awg wire. Another bonus feature are the two threaded holes that are used to shear off excess length from a 6-32, or 8-32 screw. I screwed in an 8-32 screw into one threaded hole, & then cut off the excess length of the screw. After I cut the screw, the cut ends were not marred & were ready to be screwed into a fixture. The ergonomic handles & non-slip molded grip, were comfortable to hold. This highest quality, professional wire stripper is the only one I’ll ever use.

The Klein Tools 8-18 SOLID/10-20 STRANDED HEAVY-DUTY WIRE STRIPPER WITH SHEAR-CUT pliers have worked great so far. I did not have any damaged areas, the cutting edges are sharp and cuts and strips wires easy. The handles have a nice comfortable feel and the tool feels sturdy and quality made that should last a long time, these are a good addition to my tool box.

My very old Kleins finally started to get a little dull. So I replaced them with this new Klein. These have more features than my old ones. I know to use the next larger size as marked for stranded wire. My old ones weren’t marked for stranded and solid. These are. The pliers end is very helpful so you don’t have to change tools as often and the cutter is wider than my old one. This one is wide enough for up to 12 ga Romex. There are 2 screw cutters for the most often used in electrical. 6-32 and 8-32. The handle is longer and feels better in my hand. The spring open works well. I’m sure these will last as long as my last one. I have trusted Klein to be high quality for a few decades.

I’ve been an electrician for the last 26 years. This has become my go-to when I get out of my service van. When I’m not sure what I’ll need, I grab these strippers and an 11-in-1. I have used the needlenose with built-in strippers for years, and they’ve been my go-to. These are superior for several reasons:1-Shearing bypass style wire cutters2-Large lineman-style pliers3-Shear-style strippers-I didn’t realize how hard my needlenose strippers were working me until I got these. I can’t say enough about these, especially if you’re doing service work. Soft cushioned grip, spring open, strip all the most common sizes of wire, and basic lineman’s pliers. Just buy them.

These wire strippers are better than most. They simply are wire strippers with no frills. They work well and due to the length they give extra leverage when cutting thicker wires. It is well marked as to the gauge of the wire and the grooves seem to make the cuts cleaner. The covered grips provide a no slip grip and provide enough padding when cutting thick wires.

Had the precursor to this like this one better. No lock, strips better, and the head is big enough.

Really handy tool for stripping and cutting wire. Very comfortable grip. The nose offers a pliers grip nose with the cutting tools behind it. Useful Cutting gauges and slots for both solid and stranded wire. It comes with a screw nipper for cutting 6-32 or 8-32 screws down in length. I was skeptical of that feature, figuring it would jam up or just damage the screw threading, but I tested it and it really worked well. Snipped the screw perfectly. Great tool!
