Built like a tank, but falls a little short in ease of use. This is a good example of Klein quality. They might not be the best particular tool for a certain job, but when you buy Klein you know you are getting a very good tool from the start. The two main jobs for a pair of wire strippers is to strip wire and to trim the wire if needed. The pliers strip wire as well as any other tool I’ve used with no damage or nicking of the conductor, but they also require the most force to cut wire. Cutting 12/2 Romex is somewhat hard. Single wires are not any problem, but they still require more force. This is a byproduct of the anvil type design used instead of the weaker scissor design that is common. You want durability or easier use? Making the distance between the hinge and the cutters shorter would make the cut easier. The gripping jaw will twist three 12 gauge wires together, but the teeth are too fine so that they have a weak purchase on the wires. There should be more coarse teeth on the jaws similar to what Klein uses on their linesman pliers. There is no hole for creating loops and the jaws don’t do a good job, but all you have to do is use the oversized hole for cutting screws to bend the loop. There are two areas where this tool shines. 1) I found these strippers work better than all my other pliers at straightening wires. 2) This tool cuts screws like a boss. I get consistent nice, clean cuts on screws. No doubt a benefit of the hinge construction. For the cost and bulk of these strippers you would actually be better off getting a smaller, weaker pair of strippers and a pair of lineman’s—go with Klein for both. These strippers could, however, do most of the jobs of both in a smaller lighter package. If size and weight are of concern for your grab bag, then these are hard to beat.

Klein Tools has provided me with free product and additional incentives to provide an honest review of this product. I used this for a while and I really like it. It took everything I threw at it and am very happy with it. I didnt expect it to preform so well but its durable and I will be getting a second one so I have one at home and work.

This Klein-Kurve Heavy Duty Wire stripper is replacing another wire stripper that was no longer functioning correctly. This unit cleanly strips copper stranded and solid wiring as well as twists three wires for easy capping and shears bolts all in this great handy tool. I was not familiar with this Brand name before but am very happy that I gave it a try as I am completely satisfied with its performance and quality.I am sure it will last for many years as long as it is not abused. And it is made in the U.S.A.

Klein tools gives us quality tools and these heavy duty wire cutters are another example of why buying quality tools matter. They have a nice rubberized handle with a curved grip that feels good in your hand. If you have use a tool all day on the job that matters. They are indeed heavy duty steel machined not stamped out like the cheaper wire strippers out there. I am very happy with this tool and recommend the Klein brand for professional grade electrical tools

Needs to be sold in stores. In order to strip 10 awg stranded. The one that resembles it is sold in stores can’t strip 10 awg stranded.

A pliers/stripper hybrid designed to cut, strip, and twist wires. Forged thick construction provides strength and resistance to bending under pressure. The wide knurled jaws are useful for pigtailing wires and tightening wire nuts. Five stripping holes for 8 to16 AWG solid wires and 10 to18 AWG stranded. Threaded openings enable clean shearing of 6-32 and 8-32 bolts. Spring-loaded self-opening action with tab to lock closed. Rubber coated handles are comfortable to grip but provide limited leverage. Cutting heavy wires requires some hand strength. The wire cutter blades are centered, not offset. Not the least expensive choice, but built to last—a Klein tool. Made in USA.

This is another high quality hand tool from Klein. I have found that they always make the best tools and this tool is no exception. It is made from quality solid metal and you can feel the high quality and sturdiness. Very comfortable grip sits easily in my hands and has a very easy motion. The tool has multiple wire gauge stripping sizes along with a crimping area as well and a 6-32 and 8-32 shearing area. The tips are great for gripping and easily twisting wires together. Its a great tool for basic electric work.

This is the new (Summer 2018) heavy duty wire stripper from Klein. It comes in two “flavors,” the K12055 (10 to 18 AWG solid wire stripper) and the K12054 (8 to 16 AWG solid wire stripper). For stranded wire, the K12055 goes from 12 to 20, and the K1054 goes from 10 to 18). The tools are clearly marked and easy to read.I have the K12054 (see Photo 1). What makes this stripper special is the new, wide knurled jaw for grabbing and twisting wires (where traditional strippers have a very thin jaw). This tool also features a hardened wire cutter and cutters for 6-32 and 8-32 machine screws. The first thing you notice about the tool is that, out of the package, it feels very substantial. You can tell right away this is one tough tool. Because it’s so tough, it’s also a bit thicker than Klein’s regular wire stripper, so I was concerned that it might not fit in the designated pocket in my work pouch. I was pleasantly surprised when it slipped right in. After you’re done admiring the quality and actually start using the tool, you realize how cool this tool is . It’s like having a side cutting pliers and wire stripper in one tool (with the screw cutter thrown in as a bonus). To see if I can really leave my side cutting pliers in the truck, I wanted to see how easy this stripper would cut #12 Romex. It doesn’t quite have the leverage of a larger side cutting pliers, but it does the job. I also tested the jaw and found it easily grabbed wires and let me twist them together before putting on a wire nut.As expected, stripping wire was really easy with this tool. The blades are sharp and precision formed—they didn’t nick the wires. Also, cutting screws was no problem.Overall I found this a great tool. It’s particularly well made and feels like it’ll last forever. Highly recommended.

This robust tool from Klein combines a heavy duty wire stripping section for wire sizes 8 through 18 with a strong wire cutting section and a 5/16 inch wide by 5/8 inch long plier end that is great for bending and twisting wires. There are bolt cutters for 6-32 and 8-32 and the heft of the tool makes these effective. The grip is curved and fits the palm nicely and the insulation is flared to increase the width, both of which add to the comfort. I have seldom found negatives with Klein tools but have 2 issues with this one. The close keeper has a bump that works fine to open but is difficult to engage to close. I added a bump to that with some epoxy to make it easier to use. The second issue is the sharp corners and edges like an unfinished tool. This also is not a really big deal but I know that my knuckles will find a way to be skinned there when something moves suddenly so I rounded them with a file.

These are lifetime strippers. Almost too heavy duty. Kinda heavy compared to stamped steel. USA built tough…

The Klein-Kurve Wire Stripper/Crimper. The wire stripper and wire cutter worked great and I was impressed by how easily it cut through the 6-32 and 8-32 screws. Definitely happy with them.

I use Klein products because they are made in USA and are well made and durability. You can ask any electrician what is the best made electrical tools they will say Klein! This Klein Heavy-Duty Wire Stripper make these 4X stronger than the traditional Klein wire strippers. They are a little bit heaver than the standard wire strippers. The strippers cuts 8-16 AWG Solid and 10-18 AWG standard wire. The knurled jaw is larger than the standard pliers, it can twist, grab and loop up to 3 wires at a time. It also has 6-32 and 8-32 screw that shears the screw off the length you want. It has a coil spring provides a fast, self-opening. Great product!

Wow, what a premium tool! I had previously purchased a Klein wire stripper but this tool is no comparison. The thing is a tool of beauty. if you like quality, then this is a tool that will last. I hate purchasing tools twice. This is heavy duty, definitely not junk and I use it for stripping wire and to twist wires together (the end is flat). I love this tool.

Opened up the new Klein kurve heavy duty wire strippers/crimper today. They are a little heavier then I would have expected. Wire cutter and wire strippers work out pretty good. Not impressed with the crimp though. I was really impressed on how easy it cut both 6-32 and 8-32 screws. Definitely a well built cutters and strippers.

Typical Klein Tools quality. They seem to be very handy. The wire stripper and cutters work very well. Not sure they will totally replace my needle nose and lineman’s but they will definitely have a place in my tool pouch.

I received my Klein-Kurve Heavy Duty Wire Strippers. They sure look like they are made I’m very good material. Let me know when they have a girl jaw for twisting or grabbing wires. I tried them out on some wiring this morning and they seem to work pretty good. They cut 12 gauge wire and stripped the coating off without any problems. The pliers also have a place to share off 6/32 and 8/32 screws if needed. There is a built-in lock on the pliers to keep them closed and in your toolbox when they’re not in use.
