I thought this would fit my drill on one end and a half inch socket on another but this is for more specialized impact driver use. I can tell you that I have drill bits made out of the same metal, and they are indestructible. Since I could not use the adapter I did take the time to snap a photo of the tool with a tape measure in the background so you can see where all the different stages of the tool start and stop. The ball-bearing detent at the tip has a hex screw tensioner 180 degrees opposite the ball so you can change the ball tension.

This is SOLID built impact driver that is made for heavy duty use. As mentioned by others it is not a standard shaft size it is 7/16″ not 1/4″ but that is mentioned on the product page and is because it is designed for extra heavy duty use. It will stand up to the heaviest of impact driven tools. It weighs in at over 1/4 lbs. (0.280 lbs.). It has an adjustable ball so you can adjust the amount of pulling force needed to remove the sockets and prevent them from falling off too.. It’s intended use is with the Klein Tools 3 in one socket set, also a heavy duty tool. I do believe this will last a lifetime. The 3 in 1 is also sold at The Home Depot here is the link:https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-3-in-1-Impact-Socket-NRHD/203579547

Thing is rock solid, I’m almost positive I could throw thing threw some windows without any problem. In terms of durability don’t have any complaints as of yet. I’ve used it a handle full of times and don’t seem to find problems, only reason I’m giving a “good” not “excellent” rating is because I’ve only used it a hand full and it hasn’t exactly wowed me but simply worked as implied. Buyer beware this will not work in your every impact driver you will need a larger size so don’t but this thinking it will fit your regular 18 or 12 volt Milwaukee impact because it wont.

I have a neighbor who is a lineman. I asked him to help me with this review. As soon as I showed this to him, his eyes lit up. He got his sockets and impact wrench out of his tool box and showed me how this works in the field. For a lineman, this is an essential tool as it helps to keep the sockets from falling to the ground. It can handle three of the most common square socket sizes. It has a ball and spring to help retain the socket. The ball and spring is adjustable so the tension can be whatever is needed. It is solidly built and looks like it will hold up to years of use.

The Klein Tools Brand, Impact Socket Adapter, is a professional high-quality tool for industry professionals. This is the only adapter that will work properly with Klein nut runners commonly used by power line technicians. This replacement adapter for Klein nut runners is a bit different than pictured and the replacement adapter packaging lists it as being made in China rather than the USA. They do fit and function correctly with existing Klein nut runner sockets. This three-quarter square drive adapter does not come with the rounded shoulder stop near the shank. It is best to keep these adapters with the nut runner socket and not risk losing it as happened to me. It does not hurt to keep a spare adapter on hand for the time that would be wasted by not having one on the job.

This impact socket adaptor is perfect for fastening in tight spaces. The tool is made of steel and is heat treated for strength and durability and will work well with impact wrenches and other heavy-duty drivers. The driver fit is perfect unlike other adaptors I’ve had that would slip or twist when used because the fit wasn’t tight. If you’re looking for a good impact socket adaptor try this one you won’t be disappointed.

What can you say about this tool. It’s a Klein made quality tool. It is primarily geared towards the professional lineman. If you are one then you know how necessary this tool can be. Because of the size and special fit of the sockets that will go with this adapter it will not likely be used by the average mechanic. You will need special impact drivers and sockets to utilize this tool. But if you have the proper equipment this is a quality accessory.

I am not sure why they make the nut runners the way they do so that you need this socket adapter in the first place, but what do I know. I know Klein tools is based out of Chicago and this is advertised as being made in the USA but the packaging clearly states it is made in China. Don’t get me wrong, this is a quality made tool and nice to have if you work in the Electrical field but it is a little bit of false advertising.

This adapter is NOT what I expected. The quality is good, but impractical for most people I know. It requires the use of a 1/2″ drill chuck and 3/4″ socket. The socket end is round and has a ball engager for the socket. An Allen set screw (opposite side of ball) will adjust the ball tension. All of my impact drivers use the standard size collar that you find on the quick change bits. I would need to buy a 3/4″ to 3/8″ socket adapter and then only use this in my 1/2″ drill. It will probably gather dust in the tool drawer. It might work for some people.
