The Klein Tools VDV211-041 RG6/58/59/62 Coaxial Cable Die Set is for use with the Klein VDV200-10 Ratcheting Crimp Frame. If you have a cable or satellite TV installation, you are using some kind if coaxial cable (RG6 or RG59, at 75 Ohm impedance) with F-type connectors for video signals. If you are a ham radio operator, or CBer, and have an external or vehicle mounted radio antenna, RG58, at 50 Ohm impedance, is likely used. RG62 is less common at 93 Ohms. These dies cover the range of the most commonly used cable types, allowing you to crimp both center pins (if used) and the outside ground ferrule. I found the combination of crimp dies and frame to be as easy to use as any other cable crimper, and capable of making a good solid crimp. I have to say that the dies do not come with any kind of instructions on how to crimp or prep a cable for crimping, such as the amount of jacket and insulation to strip, how long the center wire should be if used with (or without) a pin, etc. I had to dig around on the web to find the information I needed. For cable info, see: http://www.helukabel.com/publication/DE/CATALOGUES/CW/Auswahltabellen_EN/Kap_M_336-347_en_link.pdfFor crimp info, see:https://www.wikihow.com/Crimp-Coax orhttps://www.homedepot.com/c/how_to_crimp_a_connector_onto_a_cable_ht_pg_elAt any rate, the tool works fine in use. I had no trouble with the few test crimps I did, but I ran out of F connectors. If you need one, nothing else will do, and the replaceable die feature can be a cost saver.

While I don’t do a bunch of VDV work, it does occasionally happen. I ordered these dies to go along with another set of crimps that I was ordering. So far, I have only needed them on one job, but I must say that I am impressed. Very easy to use, and you can positively identify good placement prior to, and good connection after you crimp. Combined with the high-quality Klein fittings, I don’t expect to have to re-visit any jobs due to a bad connection.

The dies are very well made and work great as new or replacement dies for your crimper. These dies make very nice and very solid crimps on all types of coax connectors. These are interchangeable with the Klein ratcheting crimping tool so you can do multiple crimps on different cables and wires. And a bonus these will also fit Ideal crimpers. This jaw set covers almost all the popular coax ends in use today. Highly recommend this jaw set!

Die Set for VDV200-010 – Hex Crimp, RG58/59/62 Coaxial CableThis heavy and strong die set ( which is sold seperate from the frame that holds them, fits nicely in the Klien Tools 8 and 3/4 inch Ratcheting Crimper Frame VDV200-010 for use on a RG58/59/62 Coaxial Cable. Although some reviewers have found it fits in some frame tools other than Klien, if you are purchasing a new frame, the Klien Tool is worth it in terms of longevity and ease of use. Otherwise it fits some other brands of frame, but don’t expect it to every time! The die derives strength from the high-carbon steel, of which it is made under pressure. It is also made to fit the most common coaxial cable sizes. Quality products to make this job a snap, but a sheet of directions would make this product more user friendly.

The die sets are small and compact and made for use in the Klein model VDV-200-010 coaxial cable crimper. The dies have all of the standard size crimping jaws for just about any size cable. The dies are well made of heavy duty cast steel and are very robust. The single pin mounting makes it very easy to change out dies if you need to. I have used these to replace some of my old loose TV cables and have been very pleased with them.

Does fit Palidin Crimpall, does not fit XceliteErgoCrimpWould recommend checking it with other crimp tool frames such as AMP, METERK, Whizzotek, Klein, etcNeeds to be a little shorter on inside to fully engageThe Die set does fully engage, and should work well if these issues are resolvedHex Crimp does fully engage and swages the part to be crimped

Whether you’re a DYI’er or a proffesional, if you work with wire often that requires special fittings, this tool is a must. You can use the dies in the hand held (pliers like) holder or simply set your cable and lightly hammer with a board under it. Note: using the hammer to hard can cracked the dies so it is recommended to use the holder. The holder is sold separately and is designed to accept other types of dies for various other types of wire and connectors. This particular set is designed for various sizes and types of coaxial cable associated with cable TV and high speed internet.
