Induction-hardened gripping teeth and push-button adjustment allow KNIPEX Forged Steel Cobra Pliers to safely and securely latch onto pipes, nuts and other hard-to-grasp objects. Just position the upper jaw to a workpiece, depress the patented push button and slide the lower jaw into place underneath. Adjustable among several positions, these water pump pliers self-lock onto nuts and pipes without fear of crushing fingers thanks to an anti-pinching guard that prevents the handles from clamping down on each other.
- Fine adjustment: ensures optimum adjustment to differently sized workpieces and user-friendly handle position
- Self-locking functionality requires minimal hand force and results in zero slippage on nuts and pipes
- 1-hand adjustment for easy operation
- Equipped with an anti-pinching guard to prevent finger crushing
- Box-joint design employs a bilateral guide to withstand large loads
- Gripping surfaces fashioned with special induction-hardened teeth for low wear and secure gripping; teeth hardness approximately 61 HRC
- Constructed with oil-hardened and tempered chrome vanadium electric steel for strength and durability
- Backed by KNIPEX lifetime warranty

a little pricey but worth the money. Nice to have them lock into place with no slipping . They replace adjustable wrench for many smaller jobs.

This product is a superior one in design and construction. Multiple sizes are useful for varying applications during a project. I recommend this product both in the sizes shown and those that are larger and smaller as they serve very well. I have three sizes and have found the steel to be high quality and durable. During use it is difficult to observe wear patterns as the steel is very hard and likely tough too. The smaller sizes are excellent for carrying around on a job. The larger sizes allow the user to exert considerable force on objects. Due to the slender jaws, these pliers can be fit into tight spaces that similarly sized tools cannot. Knipex manufactures a parallel jaw pliers that should be used for applications where the bolt head has parallel sides. This is not the best application for bolt heads or nuts. Please heed the warnings of the manufacturer regarding electrical conductivity of the tool. The insulation is good, but care should be exercised if working on an electrical circuit. The electricity should always be turned off when working on a circuit. This tool exceeds my expectations. I suspect there will be items that are made to look like these in the future. If they are not manufactured of similar steel and with the precision these are, they will be inferior.

These are always in my tool bag. I’ve used them on tons of different projects. I always use them while working on Sloan flush valves or hot water heaters. They just come in handy all the time since you are able to adjust them to just the right size. And they have an awesome grab when trying to take something apart. Just don’t use them for a hammer because they are way to nice!

This tool has a really secure grip. I first used these pliers on some 1″ galvanized pipe fittings in a tight space under a house. I had a 12″ pipe wrench in one hand and these pliers in the other. The grip was better than the pipe wrench and this tool easier to handle. Also like how once adjusted for size the tool stays in that position even when you drop it. A pleasure to use.
