In addition, this tool features a cutter for use with soft, medium-hard and hard wire. These cutting edges have been additionally induction hardened with a cutting edge hardness of approximately 61 HRC. Crafted from vanadium electric steel, forged and oil-hardened, these pliers are ideal for heavy duty use. Available with plastic dipped, multi-component comfort grip, or insulated grip handles. Cutting capacities are 2.5 mm for medium hard wire and 1.6 mm for hard wire. The steel KNIPEX uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8% carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life even though it requires special production and costs a bit more.
