The cutting edges are induction hardened to approximately 61 HRC and will cut medium hard wire maximum diameter 3.2 mm and hard wire with a maximum diameter 2.2 mm. Crafted from vanadium electric steel, forged and oil-hardened, these pliers are ideal for heavy duty use. Available with plastic dipped, multi-component comfort grip, or insulated grip handles. The steel KNIPEX uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8% carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life even though it requires special production and costs a bit more.
