These pliers have a flat cross-hatched pattern on their gripping surface. The padded handles comfortable fit my hand and allow for good control. Lever action of the pliers is smooth and even. Handles are ESD rated. I used the pliers to install and remove some gold plated connectors from a circuit board. They were able to grip the connectors firmly without scratching.Overall workmanship of the pliers is excellent.Made in Germany
