It has all the features you know and depend upon of the original pliers wrench along with new improvements such as being 15% lighter, an increased 2 in. jaw capacity, an increased 19 adjustment positions, a laser etched adjustment scale, a thinner jaw profile and an improved grip.

I’ve never before had a pair of adjustable pliers quite like these. I really like them.They are a useful combination of channel lock pliers and an adjustable spanner. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of using the scale markings to set the opening width, but once I did, I found it a useful shortcut for selecting the proper opening. My only complaint is that it can be a bit difficult to fully depress the button that releases the jaw for adjusting the opening.The quality of construction is very good. My pliers came oiled, inserted in a plastic sleeve, and packaged in a nice box that’s suitable for storing them. Made in Germany.

The KNIPEX 10 in. Pliers Wrench in Black Model # 86 01 250 is a unique addition to the KNIPEX Brand. This tool has 19 adjustment positions to adjust to hex nuts up to 2 in. and replaces a full set of inch and metric open end wrenches. The Smooth parallel gripping jaws prevent marring on work surfaces and is excellent for holding, and bending applications. KNIPEX supports their product with a Limited Lifetime warranty.

These have a more smooth surface in the jaw than the chorme version and the black coating these have is very durable. I find I prefer this coating to the chrome one because my pairs that are chromed have chipping and flaking chrome, usually around the jaw edges.

The Jaw is more smooth than the chrome ones and the finish won’t chip at the edges of the jaws as a few of my chromed ones have done. The handles have been reshaped and have a wider grip but it still feels like a KNIPEX.
