Parallel jaws allow infinitely variable gripping of all widths to the specified maximum size and are designed to not round off nuts and bolts Reliable catching of the hinge bolt: no unintentional shifting under work-load. The action of the jaws allows bolted connections to be tightened and released quickly using the ratchet principle. Lever transmission greater than 10 to 1 for strong gripping power. Chrome vanadium electric steel; forged, oil-hardened. Adjustable jaw opening up to 3-3/8 in. (85 mm).

If you never tried a pair of Knipex pliers wrench, you owe it to yourself to do it. The jaws stay parallel at all openings, and the mechanism gives you a 10 to 1 strength advantage so you don’t have to squeeze like a mad man. Furthermore, when used properly, they are self locking, i.e. no hand squeeze needed beyond initial setting, just push the whole pliers in the right direction, and all your arm strength is multiplied by 10 to hold on to the part and impart it the torque you deliver. Those are simply the best pliers in the world.
