I bought this to cut a couple holes in a piece of aluminum and did not want to use tin snips or other tools that might distort the edges. I reviewed several tools on trusty YouTube, and decide that this hand tool was for me, so I bought/ordered it. I try to cut the aluminum and the tool just slips/kicks back and does not make its cut. The jaws have an angle cut, so as you cut and close the jaws, it simply pushes the tool back as it pinches closed. Ok, maybe not enough pressure, so I push forward to put pressure on the jaws and the cut, and I get a small nip out of the aluminum. Not like the video at all. I try more nips and more pressure, still difficult cutting at best. I check the supplied guide on use and low and behold I read, “Attention, Not suitable for hardened sheet metal.” Nowhere was this mentioned. The aluminum I was using was a thin hardened aluminum sheet which I selected because it was hardened and pre-painted. So it did not work for me for my application, but may work for others.
