I really like the convenience of using pocket holes. This is a nice combo package. Face frame clamps are about an absolute necessity when doing face frames. I don’t care who says not, but when putting in the screws the boards walk a bit. I would have rather gotten the vacuum attachment than the long screws they sent with it. I don’t work with construction lumber, I work with cabinet lumber. I find the non-washer head screws to work poorly compared to the washer head ones. Especially when working with plywood. They also need to make the shorter soft wood screws with the washer head. (I actually don’t know why they make anything but the washer head, I haven’t found an application that you gain anything from the small heads) I have not used the smaller clamp on jig, but it looks like it will work fairly well. The jig itself is nice and light for portable usage. I wish one could fine tune the location of the pocket holes. By that I mean, having vertical adjustment of the drill guide in the base. When using 1/2″ material I would like to cheat it up a bit but it has fixed location holes. All in all it is a very good project. Buy some face clamps! (look for my review of the pin clamps.)

The jig worked great. You make have to get other screws depending on board thickness and wood type. One learning lesson is to clamp extremely well when drilling and let the screw do the work to keep the alignment. Overall works as it should.
