I am a novice at woodworking and this product was an ease to use. I bought it to build some shelves and a cornhole game set. Both projects went very well. The Kreg Jig system makes strong, professional joints that make you look like a pro. I had some experience using another pocket hole system and the Kreg Jig, was by far, superior. You can clamp this system to your work bench, place your board in the clamp and consistently drill your pocket holes. The Kreg Jig Master System is well worth the money, and I highly recommend.

I really like this set up. I used the less expensive version to build a dog house and it was a lot of extra work to get the clamp on and off and set it up each time. Since this one is built in things go much faster and when you are doing multiples it make a huge difference.

I would have liked it to come with an instructional video showing how ALL the parts are used. I know how to use it but all the videos online just show the main part and not all the extras.

For a novice , the sales ad information , as in the manual are a guessing game at best !. Tell your buyers : this jig is for 2×4 ‘s ; not for building kitchen drawers ! The instructions on the depth of the drill collar ; not there ! Should have got the K-5

I was a bit worried about the durability of the plastic but after drilling over 200 holes there are no signs of wear. This is built surprisingly well and comes with almost everything you could need. There have been a few times where I wish I had another clamp but otherwise it’s all here and very well built.

I bought the Kreg K4 first, but ended up returning it unused because after evaluating the online reviews on the K4 and the K5, I wanted the K5 instead. The K4 is built more sturdily than the K5. On the K4, both the drill guide block and the base are built using heavy-duty (and also literally much heavier) glass-fiber reinforced nylon. On the K5, only the drill guide block is made of glass-fiber reinforced nylon. The base of the K5 is just cheaper and much lighter plastic with no glass fiber reinforcement. But the K5’s base has much better fit and finish. The K4 has very poor molding fit and finish with the guide block feeling it’s glued to the base once inserted into it, requiring tremendous force to get it out again. What really made me decide to get the K5 instead of the K4 is the convenience of the front operated handle on the K5. I also bought the HD (heavy duty) drill guide accessory to go with the K5 to install 2x lumber.
