Simple to use and set up, the Kreg Jig K5 allows skilled craftsmen and DIY woodworkers to construct furniture, cabinetry and other wood-joined creations with strong, tight-fitting joints. Drilling perfectly deep and angled pocket holes is a cinch thanks to a tool-free clamp that easily and tightly positions a 1/2 in. to 1-1/2 in. workpiece into place. A quick-release 3-hole drill guide on the jig slides up and down to match board thickness while a stop-collar setting block allows precise depth stop measurement. To make repeated holes of the same dimensions on several pieces of wood, use the adjustable workpiece stop to quickly and accurately line up your boards along the base before clamping into place. The removable extension wings provide support for long or wide workpieces and the built-in swiveling dust collection port keeps your work area clean by allowing attachment of a 1-1/4 in. vacuum hose.
- Front-mounted clamp handle makes clamping easy
- Ratcheting clamp mechanism adjusts without tools
- Quick-release pin holds drill block in place
- Extension wings provide built-in storage for bits and accessories
- Stop-collar setting block makes depth setup easy
- Swiveling dust collection port accepts standard 1-1/4 in. vacuum hose
- Adjustable workpiece stop mounts on either side for easy repeat drilling
- Comes fully assembled, ready to set up and use

I have the K3 Kreg kit and have been using it for about six or more years. I have been very satisfied with how much faster it is than gluing and clamping wood projects that I have done over the years. I liked it so well that when I saw the K5 on line that I just had to upgrade to the K5.

They were gifts and both sons were happy with them. Now hubby wants to upgrade from his “original “ Kreg.

The Kreg Pocket-Hole System made easy work of building under bed storage.I had to quickly build under bed storage drawers for 2 purposes, 1 obviously to provide more storage and 2, to prevent a new family pet from hiding under the bed. The Kreg K5 system made it very easy to build simple box frames from 1 X 12 lumber. The pocket hole screws to hold the frame together and square, plus a little wood glue provided a solid drawer that could stand heavy use and the occasional unintended kick.

After watching the online instructional videos for the K5, I found it to be pretty easy to use. The “wings” help a lot with stabilizing longer boards and keeping the extras stored. However, using this on any wood thicker than 1 1/2″ (actual thickness) required extra steps. I had to remove the actual jig and screw it onto the 4 x 4’s repeatedly for the multiple 4 x 4’s that I was working with. It makes me wonder if the simpler jig + clamp would be more versatile. But if the largest wood you expect to work with is a 2 x 4, this is a handy piece of equipment.

Great product! This bad boy makes it so easy to build very sturdy furniture. If you have a miter saw, a kreg jig, and a kreg automaxx right angle clamp, you can build nearly anything! The Kreg Jig 5 is very easy to use and very sturdy/secure. In the 2 weeks that I’ve had it, I built a solid work bench for my miter saw and I’ve been recommending to family and friends.

The claim is that you can join EXISTING parts up to 1.5 inches thick. No way without making your own spacing jig; see pic. The hole guide detaches from the locking assembly (good), but there is no way to place the drill guide properly on existing work without buying 3 more spacers. These are not included. I improvised with my own wood spacers and two hold-down screws; see pic. Only ONE plastic spacer is included, but FOUR are needed for 1.5″ material. The advertisement with the purchase is misleading. The detailed instructions say you need to buy more spacers for material thicker than 3/4 inch. I assume a very small increase in price would cover the cost of these additional (and necessary) spacers. The Kreg system for joining wood works well, but I fail to see why they advertise falsely.

Pocket screws are the fastest, easiest, quickest and one of the most efficient ways to make the joining of pieces a pleasure to do. They are also one of the strongest joints and make the common butt joint, when combined with glue, turn out to be very, very strong. The notorious 45 degree joining is a snap with pocket screws. Get one, of these jigs you will love them. I made a Shaker Hall Table using mainly pocket screws and it is one of the easiest builds I ever did. (See attached photo)

Very fast drilling of wood and assembling of screws. I made a 32 in. by 32 in. media shelf with 3 shelves, and starting to screw together another identical one. It looks really good and strong. It definitely will not be the last shelving that I create. Outstanding tool.

Came in the mail promptly and well packaged. Was missing the vaccumm accessory attachment but I contacted Kreg and they shipped me one right away..l I already drilled a few holes with it and cannot wait to do some more projects

Had K4 already. The K5 is easier to use especially not having to reach over the board to secure and adjust clamping. Also good dust collection, which the K4 did not have.
