Kreg Wood Project Clamps are perfect for Kreg Joinery, project assembly, general clamping and more. These versatile clamps have large clamp faces that distribute clamping force evenly and won’t mar delicate surfaces. They are compatible with the Kreg Jig R3’s Clamp Pad Adapter and with the Kreg Jig Portable Base. Thanks to Automaxx Auto-Adjust Technology, Wood Project Clamps adjust to match material thickness automatically with a simple squeeze of the handle – whether the material is thick, thin, or in between. You can clamp a 2 x 4 and then a piece of 1/2 in. plywood without ever readjusting the clamp. Easily regulate clamping pressure with a simple thumbscrew. Just set your desired pressure by turning the thumbscrew for more or less pressure. Once the pressure is set, the clamp maintains consistent clamping pressure with every thickness.

it took me forever to make the plunge into the pocket hole world but man what a difference it makes when you need to use it. To properly use the pocket hole technologies, you need good clamping. I initially was too cheap to buy the Kreg clamps thinking “ah a clamp is a clamp” so I bought cheap clamps and found myself always jacking with the settings. Automaxx ROCKS plain and simple. Love em, I now own 12 different Automaxx clamps. Not cheap but well worth the investment IMO.

Giving it 5 stars even though I haven’t started using it yet, because it’s functioning (on different thicknesses of pieces of wood) as advertised. The tension adjustment knob, which controls the effort needed to clamp, seems to be effective and the release works fine.

A must have clamp. For those of you who have spent time constantly adjusting your vice grips while trying to hold whatever together. You can go from something 1/8″ to 3″ without adjusting. I also have the bench type that go in a slot, and hold stuff to the work bench.

The clamps make holding down varying thicknesses of wood a much easier chore when the thicknesses are changing frequently. The Automaxx self adjustment mechanism is sometimes finicky, and may require some fine tuning occasionally, but on most of these clamps it works quite well (we have seven). It is not perfect, however. On one of them the self-adjuster frequently fails to do its job and one has to either tighten or loosen the manual adjuster tension thumb wheel to get the clamp to provide the correct tension.That said, we are not using these as part of Kreg’s “Trak” or “Master System”. We are using them to hold poly carbonate sheets to a bench as they are cut and sanded, so there may be some advantage to using them as part of the larger kit, but I don’t think the self adjuster performance would necessarily benefit.These are generally well built, and the pads at the jaw ends are a good size.
