If you use Kreg Jigs, this will be a perfect addition to your tool chest. Does a GREAT job on smaller material.

One of my favorite tools!

Kreig micro pocket jig did a perfect job. We used it on 1/2″ boards for a small shelf. The bigger jig would have worked fine but the micro holes are a little less obvious.

Tool work perfectly like all the kreg tools I’ve bought

This worked OK with my K4 system after some repairs, but does have some shortcomings. First, the block wasn’t machined well as there were burrs in the vacuum holes that were catching on the drill. I had to file those before I could use it to keep from damaging the drill. One other issue is that the stop on my K4 doesn’t work well with ½” material, which this Micro is especially meant for. When the clamp was adjusted to put pressure on the material there was only about a thread and half engaged and it kept falling out. But that’s a shortcoming on the other piece. Another weird thing with the machining of the micro is that the holes are not drilled square. When looking at the parts is seemed the pockets were not 90° to the face to be mounted but were off a few degrees. Careful measuring with a caliper confirmed that the holes in the block are machined at a slight angle. This doesn’t really effect the functionality much, and the screws still hold, but come-on. For what this costs I shouldn’t have to rework it, and the holes should be square.

I originally bought the K5. I was upset to know that I needed to then purchase this item to make pocket holes for thinner wood stock such as half inch. I mean the difference between the K4 or K5 and this “Micro” drill guide is the circumference of the drill bit. No other changes. The angles for example on the drill guide are the same and the length. So I am upset that I had to pay $50 additional when Kreg could have made a hot swappable shaft to insert into the top of the drill guide so we could change it out depending on the holes we need to drill. I mean $50 is half the cost of the entire K4 device. Seems like a lot of money for something that could have been accomplished a lot more cost effective for us customers. Now aside from that complaint, this does not take away from the build and use of the Micro Pocket Drill Guide. It is very good. I know that most people that are looking at this are K4 and K5 users since this device only fits into those two products. That being sad, I also assume most of us K4/K5 users have made pocket holes with our systems before getting this Micro guide. We all know that the screw heads will stick out of the pocket hole. This guide eliminates that issue. It works perfectly in the K4/K5 systems. Be careful with your drill bits too. You may accidently use the Micro Guide drill bit in the larger Drill guide or vice versa. You will be happy with this.

Very useful for occasional joinery. If you have more than, say, a dozen joints to make, you might want to get the upgrade with clamp.

Mcro jig is a must for 1/2 inch material as the standard size is just a little to large. If you are making a drawer though, the pockets have to be drilled on the outside making them more visible when the drawer is extended. It would be nice if you could drill them on the inside face of the drawer to make them less visible, if you do the tips of the screws will protrude out he end of the drawer face. Unfortunately that is the nature of working with 1/2 inch material and pocket holes that can’t be avoided.

The jig worked just as I thought it would. I have the company’s larger model but needed the small version for smaller boards. High quality for the right price and all the parts you need to start work immediately.
