Drill dozens of straight, perfectly aligned holes to precisely the same depth with the Kreg 5 mm Shelf Pin Jig. With an adjustable fence designed to allow for 2 distances from the edge of your workpiece, alignment is virtually foolproof and hole depth is a no-brainer thanks to this user-friendly shelf-pin guide with stop collar. The jig is outfitted with 6 hardened-steel drill guides spaced 32 mm apart that allow straight, true cuts to ensure your next shelving system is wobble-free. An ultra-sharp 5 mm brad-point drill bit is included, as is a locating pin for plotting the right course along your workpiece.

Such a handy jig! Bought this mainly for shelf pin holes in a new pantry I built for our kitchen remodel. But I am sure I will be using it for many other projects.As many others have said, this is incredibly easy to use. I did watch a video and read the directions a bit, just to be sure, but you could figure it out just by messing around.Put 4 sets of holes, with about 30 holes each in the pantry and they were all dead on level. Shelves sit perfectly.Also nice it comes with different ways of using it, such as up against a rail or just on the edge of a board.Even though it’s plastic, the plastic is pretty heavy duty and the drill holes have metal inserts, so sure this will last a long time.My only criticism is the drill bit that comes with it does not leave the cleanest holes, least it did not for me. I’ll be looking for a better bit, if they are out there. One other thing, it’s very handy that most everything has spots in the back of the jig for storing the parts of the jig, all except the allen wrench to tighten the stop collar for the drill bit. Guess they forgot. 🙂

This is so much easier to line up your holes instead of marking with a tape measure on both sides. With the metal bit guide makes it so much more accurate.

The jig worked as advertised. However, there needs to be an instruction added to the manual to explain about how to clamp the device. When I first used it, the jig slipped while drilling and my holes were not aligned because the clamp was not tight enough. I had to tighten the clamp significantly to keep it in place while drilling. After that it worked great!

Able to complete shelving unit in great time. Jig provides what is necessary for 5mm holes. Enjoyed using it. Be careful not to press too hard when drilling or you will shave off some of the blue plastic . Not overall concerned by it but something I found.

I had a little bit of difficulty in setting up the jig. Once I learned it worked well. I recommend working on a scrap piece first . Always begin with a reference end piece or you can get out of line and wind up with a off centered shelf.
