The Kreg Hex Shank Pocket-Hole Drill Bit is specifically for Kreg Joinery and use with any Kreg Jig. Features a 1/4 in. hex shank and compatibility with our Quick Change Chuck. Drills a standard 3/8 in. Pocket-Hole. Because the bit is 3/8 in. Dia and it can be used in any of our manual jigs.

I hit a knot and broke the tip off my old bit. It was getting old and I use pocket screws extensively for all kinds of things from slapping some drawers together to cabinets to keeping joints tight when trimming. So I was due for a new bit anyway and honestly the new bit made a lot of difference.

This is an innovative joinery product. When making butt joints now I always use my Krieg pocket hole jig, this makes the strongest joints! The bit when sharp makes wonderful pocket holes.

I love this concept of pocket holes and have been using Kreg Jigs for a year. However, I’ve gone through four drill bits so far in less than a year because the tip breaks off after awhile. I would be willing to pay more for a drill bit that would last longer if they could make it with a better metal. If you use this product, you’ll love the results it gives you overall. But you’re pretty much trapped with the bit, so I’d make sure to have another one handy just in case. Especially if you’re in the middle of a project and it breaks. There’s nothing more frustrating than being productive and then work stoppage just to drive to Home Depot to get another one.
