Plug and play its just that simple. 2TB ensures that we have plenty of room to save and manage all of our documents. Rugged design helps when students little hands are managing this drive.

The LaCie 1TB Rugged USB 3.1 external hard drives are affordable and very reliable. I own and use quite a few of them and have never had a problem with them. While they aren’t as fast as a solid state drive (SSD), they are handy for backing up data and/or transferring data from one computer to another.

I have been using Ruggeds for years for documentary work, and I’m always impressed at their easily packable size + durability in some hard-to-report locations. I’m usually in a rush when I work with these drives but have had no problems (knock on wood) offloading tons of media at the end of the day on these drives. Highly recommend for anyone working in a robust industry like journalism or documentary. Thank you!!

Not being adept with computer hardware, I read a LOT over weeks before choosing this LaCie 2TB Rugged USB 3.1. Even then, to be sure I asked my son (a CISCO engineer something…) if he thought this was a good choice for me. You did good, mom. Ha ha :.) Retired and having mostly missed out on movies and TV for many years, I’ve now saved a ton of movies, documentaries, music, TV series and oither interesting media. All without any issues, though I did call tech support and learned I had used the wrong USB port on my laptop. Not telling my son though ^.^ Now it flies when moving files! Yay tech support! Yay me for making a good choice! ~ Catherine

My office has relied on LaCie rugged drives for years. This one is just as tough while being smaller and thinner than previous models.

In recent years a lot people complain about the reliability of available brands. Ive been working from Lacie drives to back up raw footage for years and I have yet to have a problem.

Ejects via USB-C too easily… I get the impression that Im going to lose my data via corruption because of this.
