I bought this hd for my new Apple MacBook Pro to keep my photos on. Compact and looks to be heavy duty. I don’t plan on dropping it, but it looks like it can handle a little abuse. Nice small package.

These USB-C are HORRIBLE. They all eject. I’ll be sitting still, no movement and they eject. I am so frustrated after EVERY single one of these that I own have been damaged, not my user error. I taped the last one I used for my project and it helped. I didn’t tape this one and I’m sitting here now and my project is damaged after the first time it ejected randomly. I’m so annoyed and won’t buy these ever again.

I DJ about 10 times a year, so not much wear on the 6 year old rugged this one is replacing. Always rock solid, has never let me down during a gig (or anytime for that matter). I started buying Lacie drives when I noticed all the video producers and audio engineers I work with used them. They had to have drives they could count on, first time, everytime. You will not be disappointed.

This is my go to hard drive. Only issue I’ve had is that the cable doesn’t fit securely to my laptop and sometimes ejects if the cable moves too much. This isn’t a problem if I’m working at a desk but if I’m working from my laptop on the go, the cable disconnecting could potentially cause problems. It may be an issue with my laptop though.

Great so far. I like the small size and portability. The cable snaps into place on the computer and is tough to disconnect. I think that this is deliberate to maintain connection, but different than any other cable that I’ve experienced. Not bad, just different. I do wish the cable was integrated (permanently attached to the drive), as the thunderbolt 2 cables on the Lacie Rugged’s were.

This the third LaCie external drive I’ve purchased and all three have been on trips, dropped, and carried in brief cases & backpacks, and they keep on working. At the same time, I’ve had two other brand name drives that died without having near the wear and tear the LaCies have. I’ll be buying more LaCies in the future.

I immediately reformatted it for Mac and it is very fast. Very happy with the drive.

Simple plug and play hard drive that’s speedy! I like the added rugged protector, which can be removed by the way. The bright orange color means it’ll be difficult to lose sight of. Only time will tell the reliability of the drive, but in the meantime, it’s been working great!

Happy to buy this product , fully strong and fast.

These seem to be right in the sweet spot between speed and affordable. They’re convenient (you don’t have to plug them in), fast enough (there are much better SSDs that’ll allow you to edit 4K without a glitch), and affordable (faster SSDs are twice/3x the price) I still have not had any issues with them and continue to use them as my main backups for my fast SSDs. At the end of the day, we dump the SSD into these so that we can keep a redundancy. I don’t recommend them if you’ll be using them to edit huge footage directly on them, but do get them if you’re backed up and want to keep a dedicated drive for a project.

I have two of these units, each of which came with their own /USB-C connectors I use with my Mac. The units cannot make a secure connection, if you look at the connection the wrong way, it disconnects. When trying to reconnect it takes extremely long usually up to 20 minutes. Other devices I have no issues with….until Lacie fixes the issue, I definitely would not recommend these units. When they are connected, one unit works OK, the other is extremely slow. Lacie has not been able to determine why one is so slow, all home tests show nothing is wrong with it.

On the road with camera and gear editing photos on the go… This is the perfect accompaniment to run Lightroom and carry my full LR catalogue without filling the hard drive of my computer!

Hard drive protested – too fully of audio and video files. The LaCie did the trick!

Got these drives to backup my SSD’s I use for video editing. I love the USB Type C connection, and they’ve been very quiet so far. The Adobe code was a nice treat too. I have had no problems with connection or speed so far. They come with a lot preloaded on them, but you don’t really need all that stuff. I got the Adobe codes and just formatted them.
