So I have bought two of these drives, and they were a few months apart. This most recent one came with a different cord and it dismounts the drive all the time. Whether I am touching it or not. Like it will be sitting there and I will be working on a file not moving the my computer or the drive and it will dismount and my work wont be saved. The image I uploaded has the newer cord on the left that doesnt fit into the port at all and dismounts randomly, and the cord on the right is the cord I got when I ordered this drive a few months ago and that one works just fine with both drives.

I’d prefer this to have been a Thunderbolt drive for my Mac – but this works as storage fine.

Great, reliable product. It was delivered quickly. I definitely recommend buying from B&H. I was tempted to buy from Amazon, but I’ve stopped buying electronics or computer products there as I’ve had many of those things break after one use. Pay a few more dollars and get what you expect and need.

I have seen these for years in Apple stores, with the associates actually using them, and always wondered how good these were. After doing some research a month ago, and having many files sitting in my computer of videos, pictures, etc., I decided to buy one. Perfect timing too because on Black Friday they were on sale! I have used it a handful of times, and it is quick, works perfectly with my 2020 Macbook Pro, and there are no glitches, issues, or anything of that sort at all. Great product overall, great look, and protected! I love B&H!

Quite possibly the worst hard drives I’ve ever used. I’ve been a rugged user for the better part of a decade and these are awful. I bought 2 of these at the start of the year and one has already failed. Both drives had been getting sustained read/write speeds of around 40-50mbs. I thought maybe I just had a dud, but both drives are performing equally terribly before the first one failed. I’d look elsewhere with your precious files. I switched over the G-Tech and they’ve been 1000x more reliable.

Reliable, lots of storage, easy to use. I use this to store catalogs and old sessions as an added extra backup for my clients. It is reliable and simple to use!

Very good, fast and small. I like the possibility that there is no need to plug this into an electrical outlet. Also, this is not heavy which is good when traveling with heavy photographic equipment.

Fast and stable drive. Can use it for backup or even as a startup drive. LaCie got a bad rap years ago, but their new drives are solid. Comes with a cable for USB-C and USB 3.0

I haven’t dropped it yet nor had the goons at TSA dent it repacking my luggage after xray, but from the feel, I think I will have better luck not destroying my data. Speed is as good as you can get with a spinning drive, not nearly as fast as an SSD, but hoping in the long run for data I am better off as I have had my backup SSDs fail after too many read/write cycles.

Good price for a rugged, high capacity portable hard drive.

The first Lacie 4tb drive is still running unfortunately I ran out of space and the 5tb drive is a great edition. I never thought that a 4tb drive would fill up so fast. Who knew hahaha. I do recommend the Lacie drive because of its value and reliability.

thinking this was the most reliable of external drive for backup I bought three of them – two for my husband for his photos and time machine and one time machine for me. mine failed as I tried to run time machine for the first time on a new laptop for the first time (it had served as time machine on another laptop previously and seemed fine), it ejected improperly when no one was around. seagate support tried, but it is dead. they are replacing, and luckily I still have the old laptop to put one more TM on the previous EHD, but this makes me very nervous. about to add redundancy with a different brand.
