Included is a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C cable, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C to Type-A cable, and two years of Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Services. General protection is provided by a limited 2-year warranty.

No problems at all. Loaded properly and is functioning as expected as the Time Machine repository on an iMac. If there’s only one thing to say: It works as promoted; and B&H is a timely provider at a reasonable price.

Easy setup, fast transfer. Been using their drives for years.

The hard-drive itself isn’t rugged but has a rubber enclosure to protect it, presumably from drops of a few feet. I wouldn’t huck it out the window of a moving vehicle, but I’m not sure your external drive needs that level of durability. What you’re getting here is a solid, sensible, functional increase in your storage space at a reasonable price. I am using it to store large (7gb) photoshop working files so that my MacBook doesn’t get bogged down. Working well so far…

The LaCie 4TB Rugged USB external hard drive is rugged and reliable. While it’s not fast like a solid state drive (SSD), it’s useful for backing up data and transferring data from one computer to another while traveling. Fast shipping by B & H Photo, too.

Really fast and reliable!

Drive is not always recognized. So do you pull the cable and start over? When it’s up and running it seems to work fine. Do not have full confidence in this Type C plug and am stepping back to earlier USB models.

Ubiquitous orange drives still deliver, but slowly. Appreciate it includes USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables, but the transfer speeds are sluggish compared to everything else (as expected from a spinning disk). Great for incremental transfers, less ideal for large file transfers.

Just what I needed.

Had to re-format the disc because Macbook Pro (2019) wouldn’t write to it out of the box. Once I did that it backed up my machine fine. Pros: rugged and light Cons: Mac users will need to re-format the thing using Disk Utility to use it.

I just started use Final Cut Pro for editing, LaCie Hard Drive stores all my files so my max is not running slow. I have Recommend LaCie 2TB to my co workers. I take it with me on the go and I don’t worry because of its Protective case around it and the Orange color makes it hard to forget any where. it catches the eye when I look for it. A must Have.

These guys are touch info-stor-ers, but this one had a terrible cable that didn’t work. Guess that happens some times.

Don’t fall for the hype on these, or the rugged good looks. It’s just a crappy Seagate drive stashed in an enclosure with a USB connection that can’t keep a good connection.

Great product. Use it for video files and no lag time when working with Premiere Pro or export slow down whatsoever. Love this product.

I’ve purchased multiple LaCie portable hard drives over the past few years and I wouldn’t choose any other hard drive. The device is small/compact and fits perfectly in my laptop carrying case. The device is fast and I LOVE that I can store a ton of data on it and not have to worry one bit about whether or not it’ll still be there in another year or so. Hands down one of the best hard drives out there for my traveling needs!
