This is the third time I bought this Hard Drive from BH. When I opened it, There was only one orange wire to connect with mac. The black wire that to connect with pc was missed. Some one opened it and took it before. That is bad.

I have two of these units, each of which came with their own /USB-C connectors I use with my Mac. The units cannot make a secure connection, if you look at the connection the wrong way, it disconnects. When trying to reconnect it takes extremely long usually up to 20 minutes. Other devices I have no issues with….until Lacie fixes the issue, I definitely would not recommend these units. When they are connected, one unit works OK, the other is extremely slow. Lacie has not been able to determine why one is so slow, all home tests show nothing is wrong with it.

Ejects via USB-C too easily… I get the impression that Im going to lose my data via corruption because of this.

Simply the Best Hard Drive

Don’t fall for the hype on these, or the rugged good looks. It’s just a crappy Seagate drive stashed in an enclosure with a USB connection that can’t keep a good connection.

Cable is a little stiff so I tend to position the hard drive based on how the cable rests. Other than that great product so far.

I’ve had a few of these now and if there is anything to say about them is that they do what they were created for. No fuss. Just plug in, format, and store until you run out of room. May not be as fast as a modern ssd, but still a great piece of equipment.

The hard drive is basically bullet proof, and noticeably sturdier than anything else. I have like four of them for various projects, and now I can’t go back to anything flimsier. I feel like I can crush other hard drives if I look at it wrong. It’s a bit expensive, but if you’re already paying for Adobe CC every month as are most photographers, and can therefore include the savings from the free month voucher, then this hard drive effectively costs about as much as those cheaper, flimsier models I mentioned earlier. So it’s basically a no brained to get this.

I always buy LaCie Rugged HD’s. I have used them for many years and have yet to have one fail on me

This is the top of the product line (for external back-up drives), and an excellent companion for an Apple Time Machine.

Needed a solid external drive for Time Machine backups. This appears to do the trick. So far, very good.

Fast and stable drive. Can use it for backup or even as a startup drive. LaCie got a bad rap years ago, but their new drives are solid. Comes with a cable for USB-C and USB 3.0

Perfect companion for a MacBook Pro Time Machine. You won’t misplace it with its bright orange collar.

These guys are touch info-stor-ers, but this one had a terrible cable that didn’t work. Guess that happens some times.

I have not had an issue with this unit. I only store items with it so far. I will use it to work on my audio productions soon. I will see how fast it performs at that point.

I uploaded 2TB of data onto this hard drive as a backup which worked successfully. I went to plug the drive in again a few days later and couldn’t access the drive at all.
