Upgraded from an old PC to a Macbook Pro a few months ago and none of my external hard drives were formatted for Mac. Got this for my MBP to use for Lightroom and some light video editing. Does everything I need it to do at a great speed. Would recommend and would probably buy more of these in the future.

Plug and play its just that simple. 2TB ensures that we have plenty of room to save and manage all of our documents. Rugged design helps when students little hands are managing this drive.

Got these drives to backup my SSD’s I use for video editing. I love the USB Type C connection, and they’ve been very quiet so far. The Adobe code was a nice treat too. I have had no problems with connection or speed so far. They come with a lot preloaded on them, but you don’t really need all that stuff. I got the Adobe codes and just formatted them.

The LaCie 1TB Rugged USB 3.1 external hard drives are affordable and very reliable. I own and use quite a few of them and have never had a problem with them. While they aren’t as fast as a solid state drive (SSD), they are handy for backing up data and/or transferring data from one computer to another.

I have been using LaCie Rugged external hard drives for Apple products like my MacBook Pros since I discovered them some years ago and have never had any problems. However, I was not aware of the change in software until I got the drive out of the box. I installed it per instructions with Mirroring capability. The first time I tried to use it for backup of my system via Mac’s Time Machine I got an error message and a warning that the LaCie software was incompatible with Time Machine. Now I’m trying to decide if I want to forego the Mirroring and reformat it or just buy another strictly for backup!! I would have preferred to know of the incompatibility BEFORE I purchased it.
