The USB cord keeps coming out of the drive. Very annoying, constantly having to reconnect it. All I have to do is breathe hard and it pops out of the drive. Otherwise it seems to be fine. LaCie is my preferred back up drive, tho this is my first mini. Definitely my last mini.

I bought this Lacie because I thought it was reliable and resistant and in just 4 months it has stopped working, it doesn’t even appear in disk utility on my Mac, without leaving my desk, without receiving any blows, now I have lost jobs that my client didn’t pay me and even the client will lose, a nightmare.

Well built, compact, easy to use on a Mac, and easy to transfer to and from the Mac, Lacie, and Sony camera. will be great for travel when we can do that again. I bought it now to be able to practice to process. That learning time took five mins.!!

Bought this is a way to back up a few different hard-drives. Partitioned and works smoothly for backing up. Fast transfer, no complaints.

I had a bad experience with the a westgate external hard drive. My sister recommended the LaCie. I switched to LaCie and never look back. I have 6 LaCies and just love them! Can’t think of anything bad to say….

Great hard drive. Was not able to download the software to get it working. For some reason my macbook would not let it install. Was able to bypass this by finding multiple articles online with people having the same problem. Easy fix once I found it. Would have got 5 stars if this did not happen. Everything is good now.

I’m using these drives for photo and video production. These little drives are perfect for working on projects between various computers, on the go and in the office. The rubber housing offers a little more peace of mind when transporting.

I’ve read mixed reviews about this hard drive but decided to go with the good reviews and try my luck with the purchase. I must say that I am very satisfied with this product. It’s durable , pretty lightweight and rather nice looking. The set up was easy and transfering information is a breeze.

I bought this drive because of its higher than normal data transfer rate. On the first use I transferred 1.1 gigs of data from a usb C port to the drive. It took 28 hours. I’m trying to reach support to troubleshoot the situation. If I get things resolved I will update this review.

I’ve had so many issues with Western Digital, G-Drive and other external drive brands. LaCie is currently the only brand I trust for my external drives. I will be trying others in the future but you can’t go wrong with this one.

I’m a Wedding Photographer in the Dallas/ Fort.Worth area and frequently travel. It’s always stressful worrying about the safety of clients photos, and these little power house drives are an awesome solution. Portable hard drives are great but are all too often brittle, and unreliable. When I found out how tough these LaCie drives were, purchasing a few was a no brainer. The build and ergonomics are excellent, and the orange protective casing instills a lot of confidence in me personally while I travel. They’re shock resistant, water resistant, and can withstand an enormous amount of weight & pressure. I love that I can throw them wherever I want in my gear bag, and know that they’ll be safe, and especially that my clients photos are protected. The USB 3.0 capability provides super fast data transfer. I can back up 100gbs of RAW photos in less than 20 min, which is blazing fast compared to most USB 2.0 drives. All in all, you get 1TB, a rock solid, reliable drive, all for an awesome price. Definitely worth it.

As a graphic design student, I needed a large-enough drive to carry my assignments and projects around. I ended up buying the Rugged Mini because it’s small enough to fit into my handbag and I didn’t have to worry about being too careful with it. I love the USB 3.0, it’s pretty fast and the drive looks really cool.

LaCie Rugged is as convenient, compact and reliable as expected, with the added bonus of being able to take a few good knocks (as filmmakers, we toss these in backpacks and luggage for round-the-world trips to deserts and tropical jungles alike … so far, so good). My only complaint, and it’s a fairly significant one, is that the cable connectors on both ends are VERY sensitive. I’ve had the drive disconnect from the computer on several occasions from both the computer end and the drive end. Very frustrating when you’re working on a plane and balancing the drive in your lap and trying not to jiggle the cord loose. Intend to try with other cables, but the one out of the box should work securely and my experience is that it doesn’t.

Bought 2 – they’re my primary expernal HD storage & backup. Chose smaller smaller storage size – just in case. Several pro photogs I know use them because of their ruggedness. I like the orange casing – easier to find.
