Description
Designed for students, travelers, photographers, and videographers, the 5TB Rugged Mini USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from LaCie features shock, drop, and pressure resistance, as well as a rubber sleeve for added protection. It can also withstand up to one ton of crush resistance, including being driven over by a car. Aside from its tough exterior, the Rugged Mini provides a storage capacity of 5TB and data transfers of up to 130 MB/s. It connects to your host Windows or Mac system using its USB 3.0 interface and includes both USB Type-C and USB Type-A cables.

This is a well padded hard drive. I bought several drives similar to this one (with Prior USB types, with Thumderbolt connection, etc…) and loved the way these drives are protected. The USB-C connector allow a fairly quick transfer of data.

I got this one in Dec and used it since just a handful of times, only to have it suddenly die yesterday, out of the blue! I know hard drives die sometime but hardly used and less then 6 months old that’s really unacceptable.

I’ve looked at that drive for a long time. Finally decided to buy it. I’ve had it now for about a month in find it very easy to use and fast. In particular I like the rugged aspect of it. In excellent product end it comes with the appropriate accessories in both software and cabling.
