Spins and saves. I have four orange Lacie drives and they all work great. This one is no exception.

I’ve been using Lacie hard drives for awhile and have been happy with their products. I bought this drive to back up video. So far so good.

I use the drive to backup my work for my companies project daily/weekly. I have not had the device long but it works very well so far. Its fast and rugged. My only complaint is with how I received it, which had nothing to do with the supplier or the manufacturer but with the United States Post Office and their ability to deliver.

I bought this to replace a drive that that broke after falling from my pc. I wanted a sturdier drive to replace it, and I think this one is just right; although I hope never to fully test out its durability! Like my other Lacie drive, it is nicely finished and looks great. It is somewhat expensive though (hence 4 stars).

I had the 4tb version of this. It failed twice. The first under warranty. the 2nd time, I lost photos. My fault. But when I called, LaCie (owned by Seagate now?) said ‘Oh, that drive is not for everyday use’. I sent it to drivesavers, a web site who repairs damaged drives, and they could not even save any data. I would strongly encourage you to buy another brand if you want portable data. And even then, don’t use such a portable device for everyday use. LaCie said it was meant ‘just for backups’.

So far, this has worked great. It’s rugged, dependable and easy to use both for backups and as a primary drive on my MacBook Pro. B&H had the best price on it I found.
Cleveland Rolfson (verified owner) –
Needed to backup computer as well as images and this hard drive is nice and speedy. I’ve managed to drop it once already and its padded/protected sides did a fine job of preventing damage. No scratches and it fits easily in the camera bag.

Fast reliable USB 3.0 backup to my Mac’s 1TB 7200rpm spindle. Just what I needed!
Adele Bauch (verified owner) –
These are dependable, indestructible and lightweight. These are easy to carry around and I love that the silver part can be written on with a sharpie to know what is on each one.
Jaunita Weissnat (verified owner) –
Mine died exactly two months after I bought it. I always treated it nicely, ejected properly and never even took it out of my home. Data recovery cost me $500. Stay away from Seagate products.

This is a rugged, pretty fast (not a SSD) and capacious hard drive. Works like a charm. Can be used for the Time Machine on a Mac computer. Comes with 2 cables: one for a mini USB3.0 and the other one with a regular USB connection. The rubberized envelope can be removed but I prefer to keep it on, just in case!
Kaela O’Conner (verified owner) –
Great quality, fast transfers. Built like a tank. Very glad I purchased this.
Melba Braun (verified owner) –
Reading through the installation guide I saw that the Eco-Mode software was part of the pack. I’m glad that I chose to install it. I can walk away from my laptop and know that when the transfer is finished my Rugged won’t continue to drain the battery.
Freeda Adams (verified owner) –
We used them for backups and so far so good. Not a problem. and shipping was fast.
Bernadine McClure (verified owner) –
I need more space for audio and video files and this was the ideal tool! R is for Recommended!

Excellent product. And, not my first LaCie portable drive. I have been a fan since my first 250 Mb LaCie brick. I also use several LaCie RAIDS in the office and never had a problem. And for the money how can you beat the 4TB package.
