I like this hard drive mainly because it’s the only drive that I can use that’s large enough to edit a lot of footage off of. I am a bigger fan of the GTech drives but they unfortunately don’t have a 2TB option. This is a great alternative though. It feels sturdy and small enough to be very portable!

Use this to run Adobe programs, works great. Super fast. Love how small it is.

I use Lacie Rugged drives for outdoor fieldwork in the Rocky Mountain region, in every season. I also send them to clients when I have a large number of images. They always work – fast. These are the only external drives I’ll use in the field.

Manual configuration required if you have OS X Lion as Lacie’s configuration software does not work with the new OS. Otherwise, a fast and rugged drive. A bit on the pricey side.

Very good

Love it. Works very well, small, simple, clean design. The rubber band is great against drops and to make sure it doesn’t slip out of your hand. The plug isn’t a mini USB though like some other hard drives, it uses it’s own cable.

haven’t had it long enough to test its travel worthiness, but I’ve seen this same HD in a number of bags owned by people who travel hard and compute even harder, so I think it will be just fine.

This is mysecond LaCie external hard drive that I use to backup all of my RAW and finished files. My first was purchased over a year ago and worked flawlessly so this was an obvious choice for me. Setup was easy; plugged it into my Mac and it was ready to go. Runs quiet. USB powered so that another power cord is not necessary. No complaints, no regrets.

This 1 TB drive is just what I was looking for. Small, lightweight, USB 3.0 fast. I use this as a back-up to my computer when traveling. Very well built and looks nice.

This drive is great for editing on site or mailing a client the footage. I’ve always had great experiences with LaCie drives.

I am giving this a 3 star because I have had a lot of problems with LaCie equipment in the past. So far these drives have been fine. We use them to give clients footage. They match our company colors and a business card fits nicely in the silver window.

I’ve been using this drive for my music and video library. Now my laptop hard drive is freed up for programs and other files. It’s a very simple drive to use, I’m very happy with it.

No problems so far! Bought 2 when on sale so price was great. Have not dropped it or anything and dont plan to so cant really speak to its durability. I use it right next to my desktop and dont move it much. Easy to transfer files. Easy to access files too.

I bought this drive to store some pretty big photo libraries and it’s working perfectly. I was surprised how fast the transfer speeds are, it’s working way better than any USB2 drive that I’ve used for this in the past.
Courtney Connelly (verified owner) –
I am a fan of this LaCie drive because it’s compact and rugged, and so good for both home use and for taking on the road. I have several of these drives.

These drives are rugged and reliable. We have used them for years in the field and never go on a shoot without them.
