The USB Dock Express for 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display from Landing Zone is a docking station that is designed to turn a MacBook Pro into a portable desktop system, and works with the 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina display (model A1398). The docking station connects up to two monitors and a portable hard drive or other USB device.
There is no need to undock your computer to secure it and can be left safely on the desk. The docking station brings you a dual monitor solution for Thunderbolt connectivity and HDMI, a security slot, and more. A lock slot for a keyed laptop lock provides security when you want to step away from your desk. It can be used at home, office, or while travelling. The docking station can be connected to the MacBook Pro with the lid opened or closed.

Coming from a dell laptop with a robust docking station, I was looking for something similar that I could easily dock my macbook. I like the concept of this dock and it worked perfectly well once connected – however, that was the problem – it always took several attempts to lock in the dock. I ended up picking up the OWA Thunderbolt 2 dock with a single cable connection; albeit much more expensive.
