Measuring just 4.72 in. long, 1.5 in. wide, 0.9 in. thick and weighing in at 3.25 oz., it not only fits in your pocket but also in your personal bag or tool pouch with ease. Whether you need a quick material estimation or you work on a home improvement project, the Leica DISTO E7100i with integrated Bluetooth Smart and the free Leica DISTO sketch app offers you endless possibilities to create sketches, generate floor plans, or document your measurements with pictures using a Smartphone or a tablet and the free apps. Additional apps that integrate the DISTO may be found from your favorite 3rd party developers as well. This unit measures up to 200 ft. with 1.5 mm (1/16 in.) accuracy. Features include 2 line back light display, area calculations and continuous measuring mode. Units of measure include your choice of feet/inch/fractions, inch/fractions, decimal feet and metric. It’s powered with 2 AAA batteries and includes a lanyard and nylon pouch.

The measure button should be raised more prominently than the others for easier access to find when not looking directly at the device. The battery clips need to be stronger and tighter and have a foam retainer attached the the battery lid to hold the batteries more securely.

We’ve been purchasing this model for the past 4 years and have roughly 30 of them out in the field. They’ve worked really well for our relatively simple measures. I’ve always signed up for the extended warranty and one of our older devices, which was approaching the 3 year mark, malfunctioned and Leica replaced it at no cost. No complaints at all with this device.

It is very accurate. My only complaint is the laser is not bright enough. Maybe it’s a better winter time tool when the sun is not so bright.
