The Leica DISTO D2 New is a 7 measurement mode laser distance meter. It features an intuitive back-lit LCD display in a 4oz package that is small enough to fit in your pocket. Use Bluetooth to send measurements into apps running on mobile devices.The D2 measures from its base by default and can be configured to measure from the front.
- Measuring range up to 330 ft.
- Measuring accuracy to 1/16 in.
- Flip out the intelligent endpiece to 90° to hook onto outside corners or extend the endpiece fully for inside corners.
- Calculates area and volume, and remembers the last 10 measurements taken
- Pythagoras function for indirect height or width when estimating or looking for rough measurements
- Use the Add/Subtract capability to combine measurements to get a precise reading of the total wall area of a room

After owning and using this laser distance meter for several weeks I find that it works as advertised and is accurate, light weight, and compact. However, operationally the buttons are difficult to press, especially when aiming at a specific spot across a long distance. You will find that registering a reading exactly where you want it, essential for accurate readings, is challenging and often takes multiple attempts because the laser moves when pushing the stiff button. Two hands are required to use this meter. Also, use in bright conditions such as sunlight is difficult. I would recommend this product as long as you are aware of the product’s limitations.

Love the disto, it works great for measuring and has tons of functionality. I have used theLeica app for ipad a bit and it seems very hard to use. Hopefully just with some more usage and tiem within the app I can figure it out but I still recommend this disto to anyone!
