I had hoped that I could run a second display via a USB-C port on my laptop, but learnt (subsequently) that to do this the USB-C needs to be a special type, specifically a USB-C that accommodates “Alternate modes- display”. This is alternate modes is a newer USB-C and is set up as such, and cannot be converted via a different driver or software. So check your computer manual to make sure your USB-C is capable of running a display.
