The ThinkPad UltraSlim USB DVD Burner from Lenovo is a small form factor external portable DVD and CD recordable drive that can be attached to a notebook with a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port. It conforms with standard specifications for the following types of media CD-R, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-R (dual-layer recording), DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R(dual-layer recording), and DVD+RW. It offers a 0.75MB memory buffer underrun protection for reliable CD and DVD media recording. The burner includes PowerDVD for capturing, editing, and creating your own videos and PowerDVD software for playback DVD videos.

Does what it says on the tin, is light and efficient. I wish the 2inch cable connected to it was slightly longer, because you will almost always have to use the extention cable provided in every instance.

Thinkpad comes with disc to down load CD and DVD software. Ideal to use with my Lenovo Yoga S740 laptop. Extra dual cable supplied with lenovo thinkpad, to connect from laptop usb 3 onto portable driver usb 2 connection. Cable supplied also gives 2 extra usb 2 connects to use when installed. Good buy. What can you say about an external DVD drive. This sweet drive hits the sweet spot on all points. Slim, attractive, light, good build quality, the tray slides smoothly, reliable. Just works, The short cable that tucks inside is good for quick hook-ups on the road, but doesn’t give you a lot of positioning flexibility. Luckily you get the extension cable for easier longer term setups. Very easy to have with you anywhere you take the laptop even if you don;t connect it all the time. Feels sturdy enough to take being carried around. Excellent addition to my T570. This is a quality peripheral.
