Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

The only thing that could be improved on this machine was the instructions regarding the fingerprint sensor. It is the ON button. Thankfully, someone on YouTube had figured it out and shared. I love so many things about this laptop. The keyboard has great action and I love the fingerprint scanner to log on. It is super fast, and the touch screen works great. The screen is beautiful with high resolution. It is quiet and I love how the screen goes to the very edge. I could not be happier with this laptop.

Laptop is excellent. Starts up quickly, not bogged down with bloatware. Super long battery life. Adjusting to the mouse pad but so far it’s working great too, just used to having buttons so I’ve been pushing the one side that is like right clicking sometimes on accident and the menu pops up. Otherwise tho, it’s a breath of fresh air compared to another laptop I bought recently that I ended up giving to my daughter to play with after getting this one.

The overall product seems to be acceptable given the price point, yet there are a few items can be improved. First and foremost, the power cable and plug is not well designed with such large size, inconvenient for packing. The hole joint design is vulnerable for external pull and break. Only two USB ports ostensibly failed many fans experience. Lastly is the lousy fan noise, it appears the PC cpu has been working hard to do some simple tasks.

Glad I bought this Laptop, it’s all I was looking for: Slim and light, lighted, full keyboard, quiet and fast, big (512Gig) SDD, pre-loaded OS (Win10 Home). Easy to set up (guided), just install all my apps and transfer the data. Hope it lasts longer than my old one (~5 years). Core I5 is plenty for what I do, need to get external Optical Drive and a USB-C Dock for Ethernet, more USB and VGA (older projector).
