Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

Screen distorts and flickers off and on. Didn’t even make it through the 1st use. Good thing B&H has such great customer service I’ll be able to return it. Also, tons of ridiculous spam type software installed. This seems like the norm with PCs so maybe trying to battle through disabling unneeded free unhelpful programs is normal to most people.

I found the Idea Pad 5 to be an excellent computer. I really like the fingerprint reader. The initial setup was quick and easy. It does everything I need it to do. Great investment for the money.

Great laptop! Nice metal cover while it’s still light. No issues at all in transferring my old data to the laptop. The SSDD is fast and applications load quickly. The display is sharp and the colors are really natural. The biggest advancement is the USB-3 which I understand, you have the option to add a second large monitor. I only have one monitor currently which works very well. I can’t wait to try it! The only comment I have is while using the monitor with several pages open in a single app, one of the pages is not displayed on the monitor but on the closed laptop. It’s possible to access the missing page by opening the laptop and dragging to the monitor. I can’t state if this is an Lenovo issue, software or my understanding. I’m still giving 5 stars.

The PC itself is fine. The Windows format is not user friendly. What took 1 click now takes me 4 clicks. And…..now I have to pay $100. a year to be able to type up a Word Document. That is crazy, mind-boggling and Windows is robbing me! I am looking for aan alternate solution.
