Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. I got an acer last year with the new AMD ryzone processor. was really disappointed. I got this Levono with the i5 and this thing runs circles around the acer. it’s extremely fast in comparison. Highly pleased with this purchase

I love this lightweight laptop with the i7 core processor at a very affordable price. The ease of entry with the fingerprint option is helpful as well.

I bought this laptop after buying a Lenovo Legion. I was so impressed with how fast and capable the legion is. But the legion’s battery power doesn’t last as long as I need for some work related functions. So I bought this one. Just as capable as the legion but without the graphics card and doesn’t kill the battery in just a few hours. Lightweight, big enough but not too small. So far I love this thing.

This is the first laptop I have purchased in several years. The lenovo is everything as advertised and I have enjoyed how easy the set up and learning to use has been. I use this laptop with my Zoom meetings for work and this laptop is perfect for that setup. This has sold me on the lenovo brand.

The Laptop was everything I expected. Great start up time and speed. Plenty of memory for my needs. Light weight and slim. I feel I got more for my money than a Dell or HP. Only thing is the camera isn’t quite a clear as expected but works fine. Lenovo Ideapad 5 8GB RAM 512GB SSD 15.6″ for under $500.00 was awesome.

I bought this laptop for school (high school senior, plan to use through undergrad), as my 2017 surface pro i5 4gb ram was struggling to run online classes while simultaneously take notes. Other than the screen and camera, I’d have to say that this is an excellent laptop. It starts up fast (I can power it up 5 minutes before class and open all the apps/tabs in time to join the zoom call) and runs perfectly, without any of the lag I noticed on my surface pro. However, the fans do turn on quite often, but it is never too big of an issue. The keyboard is excellent to type on, although a bit more cramped than my surface pro. The display is better than I thought, seeing that the specs say 300 nits and only 45% NTSC, or about 72% SRGB. I don’t notice the color difference compared to my surface pro that much unless I hold them side by side, but even so, it is not a deal-breaker. However, one issue I noticed about the display was the screen bleed, as it is quite noticeable when viewing the black borders on youtube videos at full brightness in a dark setting. However, I never notice it while using it regularly throughout the day. The build quality is excellent for the price, as Lenovo had to cut corners somewhere to deliver an Intel i7, 12 Gb ram, and 512 GB SSD at the pricepoint. My first laptop’s display was a little curved, so I got it replaced. The computer feels pretty sturdy, though not as sturdy as a surface pro. It is relatively light for a 15.6 inch, as I can comfortably hold it in one hand for a short period. When picking up the laptop, there is a little creaking sound, but it doesn’t seem too concerning. The plastic touchpad does not feel as good as the glass touchpad on the surface, but it is still smooth and responsive. One of my favorite things is the battery life and battery optimization Lenovo vantage provides. I get at least 6-7 hours (100%-10%), maybe 5 if I’m video calling a lot. The best feature, however, is the ability to limit the laptop battery charging to only 55-60% if it is plugged in a lot. This puts a lot less stress on the battery and will extend its lifetime, as always having it charged to 100% will wear out the battery early on. One major reason I needed to replace my surface was that the battery degraded to 50% in 3 years. Above all, this laptop was a great buy, as I can’t think of a laptop that provides the same specs at such a low price point without having a fatal flaw. I would definitely recommend it.

This has handled my daily media requirements easily. There’s a bit of bloatware to remove but not too much. Feels solidly built, and I like the physical camera slider covering in this ever-connected age.

The transfer of data from old to new needs to be “clearer”. I had to fail several times before I understood that I “had” to move the old files and programs to a hard drive and then to the new computer. The software gives you the “impression” that you can move it directly from the old to new computer.

This computer can handle my ADHD style of research, 22 tabs and 6 rabbit holes of search going at the same time while playing music and building a spreadsheet. After doing my research I believed I could save a few $100 by sticking with the Intel Core I5 and I am glad that I did. This handles all of my needs beautifully. So far the finger print scanner is working perfect every time. This is the first time I have had this feature and what a time saver!

Absolutely a great laptop! The one issue I had was getting the fingerprint reader set up so we opted to go with a pin number instead. Otherwise, all the features are great!
