Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

The laptop overall is good and I am happy with the purchase, but the screen quality I think is sub-optimal for 2020. It has a strange bluish hue that makes the screen seem hazier and more blurry than it actually is.

After living with it for a month and spending considerable time tweaking RGB video settings in the Lenovo app, the screen still stinks. It’s dark and both text and images look sort of washed out. There’s an odd, faint halo effect around text when scrolling. I’m using it with an external monitor (thankfully), and you can really see how inferior the screen is when compared with the external monitor. It’s a shame, because the machine is nice otherwise (although it could use another USB port). If the screen were better, I’d give it five stars.

I’ve never been a laptop user, i’ve fought it hard, but i actually really love this one! The touchscreen makes navigating super easy and its very user friendly. My only complaint is that working from home, and being in large (25+ people) zoom meetings, sometimes the screen will start to scramble and go black. If i turn my camera off it works fine tho. Overall, the speed and quality is exactly what i was looking for.

I purchased this laptop not knowing anything about the Lenovo brand and being a lifelong HP loyalist. My partner convinced me that I should take a chance on Lenovo and I’m glad I did. I love the aesthetic of my laptop and the functionality. The material used on the keyboard surface is dust repellant and I don’t have to worry about leaving fingerprints. Aside from this, I haven’t had any problems with the laptop and every application works seamlessly. The battery life is okay and not excellent, that is why I took off a star, but it is still a lot better than my old HP laptop that is only a year old. I’m happy with my purchase. I’m not sure why I haven’t considered Lenovo on my own prior to this purchase.

Its nice, good construction. Only issue are the vents too cool the laptop. Air should be routed through the sides like so many older laptops. So i cant place my laptop on a table with a tablecloth without it overheating or place on a carpeted floor while doing yoga. Its the only negative but everything else is good enough.

I usually by an external keyboard with my laptop but with this one I didn’t have to. I use numbers a lot, typing the numbers from the top is not convenient for me, this Lenovo product has a unique keyboard set up that has both numbers set up.
