Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

This is a nice slim laptop. Like the angular profile of the case, display quality and keyboard. Like the SSD. Seems fast compared to prior HDD laptop this one replaces. Only complaint is 2, not 3, USB ports. Like to have a backup drive attached which consumes one port. For me, printer consumes 2nd port. Had to buy a Bluetooth mouse since 3rd port was not available. However, this was known going in.

It’s okay, I had a toshiba that I created, so it was getting on in age and decided to enlist my dau to help me get a new one. She suggested this because it’s cost effective, lightweight, but I still needed an external dvd. My biggest thing is only has two usb, I had 4, and I used them. I had to get a dvd burner and it takes two, mouse takes one. So I have to give up my mouse to plug in the dvd player. Frustrating. It’s nice and new and moves fast. I would recommend. I am still going through the new phase, getting frustrated, and miss my old one. I do like the keyboard and speed.

I am a senior citizen & had to replace a two year old laptop (ACER) that just stopped working one day. Happily, a computer tech was able to retrieve all of the data on the hard drive, so I am in the process of organizing that data on my Lenovo Thinkpad. My rating is four stars only because there is no DVD port. I did purchase an external DVD player & am on a “learning” curve for that, too. I really appreciate the feature “Lenovo Vantage”. I am able to easily access information specific to my laptop: My Device Status, Quick Settings, System Update, Tips, etc. While that information is accessible in other places, I am grateful to have it organized in one spot. This feature is very helpful.

I recently purchased this computer from big box store. It is blazing fast and is quick at start up as you would expect. I liked the built in camera cover. All in all it is everything I was expecting. This is my first Lenovo computer. Had a minor issue with the headphone jack and it was handled by IM support by downloading an updated driver for it and it fixed the issue. Love how fast it is. Nothing to complain about. I love the thumbprint unlocking feature and the anti glare screen. I also really like the look of the computer itself. It is a very dark navy blue color. I bought this because it is cheaper than the ThinkPad but is still a wonderful computer. I will be using it for online college this year. I have had it for a couple weeks now. It starts up so quickly and was a huge upgrade from my previous computer (which was an Intel Core i5). The graphics are beautiful. It is also a fairly light weight computer (not too light, but definitely lighter than my previous laptop) and this will make it much easier to bring with me when I am able to get back on campus.
