Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

It is exactly what the advertising claimed it to be. I use it a lot for Zoom and it works very good. It is very fast and it renders videos very well. There was no problem at all setting it up. I purchased this laptop after having bought two other laptop brands in the past 4 months that were both returned within a few weeks of purchase due to excessive fan noise. I was thrilled when I started it and no noise. I have now used it for a few weeks and it is super quiet. I’m impressed with how light it is. Keyboard is excellent. Touch screen is an added bonus as I rarely use it. Boots up very quickly, and the screen size allows for multiple pages of multi tasking. The battery life is also better than the prior laptops I had purchased. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

This laptop was purchased for use to stream our church service during restrictions due to COVID-19. However, once restrictions are lifted, we may still stream our services. Previously, we had been using a congregant’s personal laptop. The laptop performed well for the Facebook LIVE stream. There was a jerkiness in the video display on the laptop while in the monitoring pane of the video, but this was not transmitted to the actual Facebook Stream. The laptop performed well while editing the three video clips of the service from the High Def camera into a single video for uploading to YouTube. I am satisfied with the laptop’s performance and price. I do wish it had a 1TB hard drive, but it is getting the job done, and we can get external storage if we need it.

I bought this computer during the lockdown for my son to do his school work on. This is our second Lenovo product and the first one which is a old YOGA is awesome . It works perfect and has been a great computer . This one on the other hand we have had for 2 weeks and the screen flashes .. it constantly freezes and when you watch a video the screen blacks out completely and you can hear the video but not see the video. This I hope isn’t a normal for the lower models. It my computer I got was a dud. This tells me either quality control is off or it’s the cheaper parts that do not work. Either way they shouldn’t let a unit leave the factory broken like this .

The only thing missing on this one is touch screen but if you don’t care much about that (like me), it’s just an awesome buy. Fast startup due to the SSD disk and the 16GB of ram. Battery does not last what is says in the specs but still give you from 5 to 8 hours depending on the use.

A very clean looking laptop, well built. Fast, perfect for students. Battery doesn’t last as long as I’d like about 4.5 hours but charges quick. If you’re willing to spend a little extra the faster processors are well worth the money.

When you lift up the top, the computer automatically turns on. I left it on all night, when I tried to access iit failed to come out of sleep mode. Not sure how to fix. I just shutdown each time. It is very fast and quiet. Love the solid state drive.
