Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

So far I have been pleased with the performance of my IdeaPad 5 (15″, Intel) laptop. I like the automatic light up keys when turning it on. The performance level, keyboard comfort and 15.6″ Full HD IPS Touchscreen.

It was time to upgrade my 5 year-old Yoga, and this fit the bill! It is lightweight, has an i7 processor, and 16GB of RAM. The touchscreen is great, and I love the matte finish. Having a numpad on the keyboard is nice!

Great laptop that is very fast and responsive. Touch screen is very snappy and the screen looks pretty good for this price point. I would recommend this to anyone needing a ltoucbscreen laptop with a lot of processing power.

This is a perfect laptop for everyday use. I needed a laptop for everyday tasks (emails, web searching, research, etc.) and wanted to purchase my very first Lenovo. I’m glad I did! This laptop so far is great and seems well built; battery life is excellent!

Best computer I’ve ever owned! Fast, quiet, with a big and vivid screen. Feels like an HP for hundreds of dollars less. Very happy with this purchase.

This was a great deal!! It’s fast and intelligent and looks beautiful on the outside. I was disappointed though that there was a small dent in the side coming out of the package and the trackpad sometimes gets hung up.

The chassis of this computer feels reassuringly solid but not excessively heavy. The screen provides a clear image, and they managed to fit a (slightly compressed) numeric keypad alongside a full-sized regular keyboard. The Intel processor in this computer has a lower clock rate than some competing models, but its tested performance metrics compared well against the chips in similarly-priced computers I looked at. I immediately filled up most of the 500GB SSD with my old files, but a search of the entire drive for a filename took less than a minute. I often have difficulty using touchpads, but not this one. It tracks my finger well, and the corners actually click when I use them as mouse buttons. The fingerprint reader has worked well for me, too. I tend to use my notebook computers as substitute desktops with external keyboard, mouse, and monitor. I was barely able to achieve this setup using the computer’s HDMI output and two USB-A ports, but there’s no third USB-A port for an additional device and there is no Ethernet port. In all fairness, however, adding these ports (especially the Ethernet port) would require some compromise in the construction of a laptop of this size and shape. In the end I got all the ports I wanted for less than $40 by plugging a hub into the USB-C port, and the ports available on the computer itself compare well with comparable computers. The power cord could be better. The wire itself is thin and prone to kinks, and the power adapter is a large square block that needs to be plugged directly into an outlet and tends to block multiple adjacent outlets. The software for transfering files by wifi had trouble on my old computer (of course!) and I couldn’t figure out how to get it to resume from where it stopped after my old computer dropped the connection. I finally ended up using an external hard drive for the transfer. And of course this computer runs Windows 10 (though the Home edition seems to work as well as the Pro edition I have on my work laptop).

I recently lost my job and needed a home computer since the company wanted theirs back. I have had Lenovo computers in the past and both my kids have Lenovo Chromebooks for school. I am very happy with this machine. It works great for surfing the web and using the Microsoft suite of products.
