Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

Competent design with a sleek and slender shape for ease of access, especially nice for taking in a backpack. Good battery life and I havent noticed any faults or glitches in the OS. Only problem is some overheating while charging which isnt too problematic.

Nice computer, all programs run good. Need some improvements in the quality of the screen, but nothing to be worried about.

Laptop performance is GREAT. In addition I don’t have the need to enter /key a password but by using the fingerprint reader is all I need….love that feature. By the way the finger printer reader on this laptop happens to be not visible but it is in the same location of the ‘on/off’ laptop button. Will certainly continue using lenovo.

I wish I had bought this computer long ago. Everything I do works so much better and faster than on my old computer. This new Lenovo Ideapad 5 also seems to have less factory-installed unwanted software than I’ve had on previous computers. No complaints.

Solid laptop so far, very fast and responsive, deducted a star because i hate the pg up/dn keyboard layout and feel the screen could be a little brighter for the cost

So far I’m in love with it. It’s perfect for taking notes in class(which is why I bought it) and its light so I don’t have to worry about it swamping me down. My own problem with it is that the backlight keys on max brightness drains the battery, but it has so many battery saving options it deserves 5 star rating.

I bought this because I got a free computer from work that was just to small. The size is great but it’s super light. I world recommend this!

I was looking for a laptop with high capabilities for art, business and entertainment. I originally was thinking of getting a MacBook but upon further research I felt that the Lenovo was a better choice with a much lower price tag.

Very fast, great display, but … the backlit keyboard lacks the option to activate it automatically when one types (need to press FN-key plus space bar to cycle through the off/low/high back light settings), does not provide USB port on the LHS (a 3rd USB port would be great).

Excellent laptop on a budget. The Core I5 handles anything we throw at it. The display is nice and bright and the matte finish minimizes reflections. I really like the lighted keyboard. The laptop is also very quiet – very little fan noise.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Great all around laptop. Even works for some light gaming. My only complaint is that there’s no RJ45 port.
