Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

I’ve worked exclusively with Lenovo machines for a long time and this laptop has met every expectation. Super fast start up, and sign in is a breeze thanks to the very responsive fingerprint scanner. Screen looks great, backlit keyboard, numeric keypad. Memory is more than I’ll need for my masters program and running my own business. I had my heart set on this same laptop but with Ryzen 7 processor, but they’re sold out everywhere… I’m so glad I found this machine and the i7 is so far very impressive!

I’m a teacher and I use to for online lessons. I’m okay with almost everything. The mic volume isn’t great. I can turn up the online video volume really loud or my students, but my mic doesn’t provide the same volume. Otherwise, I’ve had HP for as long as I’ve had computers. This is my first Lenovo. I bought it because the Lonovo lasts longer than HP per reviews and experience with my school issued laptop. I also love that fact that it doesn’t come pre-loaded with all the annoying bloatware that HP does. That was really refreshing!

Love the speed of the laptop, I am able able to operate the multiple software platforms without issues. The only issue I have encountered is that the battery doesn’t not last long. I only get about 4 hours per charge. Ideally I would like to see it last at least an 8 hours workday.

Only has the one USB-C charging port which will go bad and you’re screwed if that happens. Needs one round charing port and then one USB-C charging port for a backup.

Great laptop – snappy to use, and with the benefit of having a massive primary SSD at 512 gb. The screen colors don’t pop, but at $599 + tax, 16gb RAM, i-5 and a huge capacity SSD, the screen can be more than forgiven.
